Mercedes Zetros 2733 - 6x6 - Full RC - Lego Technic MOC - 40 Years of Lego Technic

This is my MOC on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of #Lego Technic. Happy Birthday Lego Technic!
It is a 1:13,5 scale model of the #Mercedes #Zetros 2733 6x6. All functions are Full RC. It is 69 cm long, 21 cm wide and has a height of 27,5 cm. The weight is 4553 g. It took me 16 month to complete. As battery I use the BuWizz. The Zetros is remote controlled by 4 Sbricks via iPhone.

Hi, this is a wonderful MOC. I was waiting for this truck a long time and it was worth it. Furthermore, I really like the boom with the pneumatic functions and the technic body. Did you try the boom with some load?

Thank you so much! Yes I tried the boom with some load. But as I dont use any leverage it's not so spectacular. Fully elevated the Zetros was able to lift 90 g. Somewhen later I'll construct a better crane ;) But so far it's looks good :)

Danke :) Final war es eine Übersetzung von 1:50,4. Du kannst dir den Antriebsstrang auf Flickr anschauen: www.flickr.com/photos/lc-jrx/36774973262/ Mittlerweile ist es die Übersetzung bei 1:16,8, weil ich die beiden 8er Zahnräder gegen ein 24er tauschen musste.

How much are the drive motors geared down?

As shown in the video the ratio is 16.8:1. Because of high abrasion I changed it later to 5.6:1.

+Werner-Günter Schmidt Vielen Dank! Ob ich mich noch an die Bauanleitung setze, weiß ich noch nicht. Ist eher unwahrscheinlich, da ich den Zetros dafür komplett zerlegen muss. Die Blinker habe ich über eine Sequenz im SBrick gelöst. Kann man dort recht einfach einstellen. Eine kleine Anleitung habe ich unter www.doktor-brick.de eingestellt.

Hi, thank you very much for your words. I think it's great that you like my model so much. If you want to build something similar, it's best to start small to medium-sized first. And plan enough time. A model like this quickly takes one to two years. I usually build the chassis first. Then the first studies of the design. Then I put the two together and build the rest of the things. But everything is subject to constant modification - as the construction progress requires at the moment. Many greetings jrx

My problem is that I don't know how to build the shell of the Mercedes Zetros, that is, the cab part and the hood part. I think this is a bit difficult for me, and this is also what I would like to ask you for help. Let me introduce you a rundown of my unfinished work. The first is the suspension, which I was well prepared for and watched a lot of KZbin videos and research on the Lego Technic off-road trucks, which use a lot of suspension. I chose to use the suspension of non-independent spiral spring and the door bridge to reduce the wheel edge and increase torque. This is a very good off-road suspension system and it is based on LEGO set Unimoc 8110. In terms of transmission, the front and rear axle are equipped with two differentials and differential locks. I did not consider the central differential lock, because a PF motor cannot control three differential locks by shifting gears, which is a little difficult for me. Don’t know how to help you exactly. Building the hull is much trial and error. After some tries you’ll get a shape you are happy with. The rest you described sounds really good

I fear as it is in the video it is a little more expensive. I used some rare and therefore expensive parts like those 2x2 plates round in trans clear or the big number of black axle pins.

Depending on how cheap you get the parts I would say you habe to spend around 1500€ up to 2000€. Good luck!

Don’t think so. I used XLs in the first prototypes. Problem was: It smashed the gears and so I was near impossible to bring the power to the wheels. Now I have a very good compromise between power and speed.

The boom just doesn't work properly. It moves too quickly.

No, it works fine, but sometimes a little fast. That depends on how much pressure is in the air system. Have a look at the "Behind the MOC" video. There I use the compressor only when needed so the pressure is more controllable. Btw. the fast moving pneumatics are inherent in the system since its beginnings.

Bau ihn dir doch ;) Der Nachfolger (ganz ohne Portalachsen) steht schon fertig hier. Muss nur noch dazu kommen zu filmen und zu schneiden. Für den wird es voraussichtlich auch eine Bauanleitung geben - zumindest dann, wenn ich nicht vorher die entsprechenden Programme fluchend vom Rechner geschmissen habe.
