I'm going to Google to see if Rick Mercer has ever been given the Govern General Award. If anyone deserves it, it's Rick. Not only does he introduce us to the "everyday Canadians, he keeps us informed about our Government and shows us our Canada...from coast to coast and every stop in between. Thank you, Mr. Mercer.

I am very glad I saw this because now I know I will never want to do this. However... great entertainment Mr. Mercer! Thank you!

When he fell through the bridge I don't know if that was real or a set-up. Either way that's when I would have started screaming like a little girl. I can't believe he made jokes and was so calm when where he was standing looked so terrifying. Rick is amazing. He has lived a thousand lifetimes already and no doubt has more in him.

it was a setup as in one shot before hand you can see a cut in one of the baords. However the whole looks utterly terrifying!

Mercer has received more than 25 Gemini Awards for his television work. Newfoundland premier Clyde Wells honoured Mercer with the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council's Artist of the Year award. In 2004, Mercer was presented with the Governor General's Performing Arts Award. He donated his $15,000 cash prize to the LSPU hall, the theatre in Newfoundland where Mercer performed his early work.

All I could think at the end of this was "AREA SYNCHRONIZED". Even so, a highly entertaining video, albeit a slightly harrowing one.

Jeez bro, chill. It's called being facetious. Sure, I'm American and like living here. Doesn't mean I arbitrarily rate it as better than everyone else, think that every other country is inferior, etc. I was merely making a mild troll joke. You find those on the internet occasionally. Try Reddit or Imgur to learn more.

While I agree with you that the US is not the best country in the world, I think Sweden might be better.
