Switching of parties is done primarily because of the student leaders that take position in each party. It is not a reflection of students' political affiliations or loyalties but rather their support of a fellow student leader. This conference does provide insight into the Canadian political process but is also meant to be FUN. Sorry that concept was lost on you.

To alleviate some or much of the ignorance(or try to) from the comments in this thread, I will contribute the following background information: - You are allowed to choose your party at this event. - People choose their party for the lawlz. A fair number of members in the BLOC and NDP at this event were actually very fiscally conservative in real life; ie. the kind of people who are the executive on the Queen's Campus Conservatives. - The NDP is extremely disorganised on Queen's Campus.

@PaperJoelio I agree. Universities in NS aren't allowed to hire new professors because of the cuts, either. At Dalhousie the Faculty of Architecture is supposed to have about 30 people working in it, but because of the hiring freeze there are only 12. I voted for Dexter and even went to his swearing in of the new cabinet. This is a disgrace. One thing to remember is that this is a provincial NDP government which is separate from the federal party. NDP govts in Manitoba and BC have done well.

It depends on where she goes to school. There are some schools in nova scotia who have garde sizes around 20-30 I can completely understand why they would be closed. Actually Darrel Dexter is expected to actually have a VERY balanced budget and for a province whose economy is not all that good I'd be happy with the fact that if he gets elected again there will only be better things in store.

In respect to the Queen's Campus political scene, the Liberals have the most active support, followed by the Conservatives. The NDP is actually close to non-existent, and the Conservatives are arguably more organised (at least in terms of Student events) than the Queen's Liberals, who are more involved in the federal government.

@PaperJoelio There's a trick played on local governments the world over; I don't know if it's the case in Nova Scotia, but before judging them for raising taxes and making cuts check whether they didn't have their funding from Ottawa cut for being NDP. I understand they've been rather partisan in their funding, to evoke exactly the kind of response you have. Why not contact your representative and ask them to explain themselves? Can't hurt.

The White Dwarfs were Mean Money Lady and Umbrella Lady and we outed her antics in the movie Elizabeth about her in 2011 along with The Queen Natalie Helferty My Life in 2011 and The King and The Knights all in theatres in 2011. We as Hollywood Royals have fun with God and so make fun of what Elizabeth II set up here in Canada in her attempt to take over from Us as Hollywood Royals. Justin Trudeau made an appearance at QMP in 2016....It may be the first time a Prime Minister has ever visited - surprising given that the PM only has to walk downstairs to be in the House. Very positive for politically minded students to have contact with the leader...but then Trudeau has an academic background and understands what it would mean to them. I was impressed.
