I am a Chief Engineer by profession.
I have been sailing for the last 14 years. Passed out from MERI Kolkata in the year 2008. Joined Seaarland Ship Management as an Engine Cadet, over the course I have sailed in the past with British Petroleum and Anglo-Eastern as well.
With the help of YT Channel Merchant Navy Decoded and the website www.merchantnavydecoded.com, we are trying to make this profession more transparent. All our endeavors are towards promoting good shipping companies, good colleges and sharing updated information about the same.
There are so many myths attached to this profession and so many fraudulent activities operational that sometimes even students with good backgrounds land themselves into bad Shipping Companies. Futures have been destroyed because of lack of proper guidance and this KZbin channel will try its best to help those who are in need to get into a good shipping company.

For me this video should not be taken as motivation for getting promotion faster…I have seen many second , 3rd engineer who were promoted very fast but when 4th engg call them to troubleshoot purifier or some other machinery they were having no idea how to deal with it. And this experience comes after making 3-5 contracts in each rank . This is my experience n opinion in general 😊.. learning from your courses n videos .. Radhe radhe 🎉

Sorry Paras I don't agree to this , as I have seen people with many contracts experience and they run away from problems as well. For solving problems ,it's about knowledge , mindset and strong basics , eagerness to read manuals and always ready to learn. Contracts matter but I would love to become second engineer early any day and take up the responsibility , I have also seen people doing really well even after faster preparations because of right attitude.

I'm in a mechanical engineering 1st year I wanna pursue GME from the best institute and that is AEMA I've already read everything available on website Including fees structure, eligibility... All and i also have a brief knowledge about merchant navy that's why I took mechanical engineering for my btech degree do that I can pursue GME from AEMA What my question is sir If I completed my Btech degree of 4 years in 5 years .. Will it affect my career? I've read all the eligibility criteria I've got 80% in SSC and 82% in HSC And I'm pretty sure that my aggregate will be above 65% as per given requirements. Please reply sir I watch your all videos You're doing amazing work. Love you sir You're my idol

_Jai hind sir What if I have done /bulk +LNG/ both during my cadetship , as a 3rd+2nd officer if I have done my contracts on Bulk then after promoted to chief officer can I switch to LNG carrier_

No chances are less , try to switch early on ,this is important for Deck officer as compared to engineers.
