This song is all about the celebration and appreciation of the amazing natural world all around us. Including the stars and the universe as well. "Shudder before the Beautiful"! To shudder "Strong emotions can cause a person to shake or shiver. This is often due to a surge of adrenaline in the body." Thus the poetic meaning is to "to be awestruck and overwhelmed by the beauty of the world around us! I loved the huge smiles on both of your faces throughout this song. 😊😊 Isn't it amazing how Tuomas' compositions combined with Floor & Marko's wonderful voices just make you feel happy to be alive? How can you possibly not feel great inside when Floor hits the stage with her amazing charisma and stage presence? Yes, this is the show opener. And the first song on the 2015 Endless Forms Most Beautiful album, the record this tour was for, and the first one recorded with Floor, and Kai on drums. The spoken intro is voiced by evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins. You will hear him again when you get to Weak Fantasy and The Greatest Show On Earth. The EFMB album themes are of science and reason and the evolutionary theories of Darwin and Dawkins. The 'Beautiful' in the song title is referring to the beauty of Nature and the world itself. Tuomas' keys and Emppu's guitar duel for the first time in about 15 years. Andrei, you're impressed hearing these songs for the first time, we are still too, even after hearing them hundreds or thousands of times.

Very nice! You both project yourselves as two wonderful and beautiful human beings. We shudder before the beautiful: The oceans which cover over 70% of our planet, the mountains (Alps, rockies, Himalayas), the canyons (Grand and rift valley), the deserts (Sahara, Gobi, Mojave) and from the largest and strongest animals to the smallest birds. Why shouldn't we attempt to protect and savor these gifts. I shudder before these things....OH MY........

If this song is a fantastic show opener, that one is the perfect show closer. I recommend the Tampere 2015 version, but the Wembley is also very good. 1) I subscribed to them because if I saw them on the street, I wouldn't think "Metal heads" and I now have an open mind about others. 2) I hope to see Nightwish to hire a strong lead male singer. Not that Floor can't do the work, but I don't like to see her put to such a high amount of work. Troy fills in where necessary, but he's just not the same quality. Nobody can replace Marco, but they need a heavier voice than Troy, or they're going to lose Floor's voice prematurely.
