I actually almost started crying when I saw domenica shed a tear. I am very happy that you closed Rammstein into your heart. You really just started in the world of Rammstein. There is so much more to come. Funny, sad, disturbing even disgusting (story behind „wiener Blut“). I would recommend to watch „mein Land“. For me a song about people whose whole lives consisted of setbacks and who gave up on themself and others. As soon as something positive happened to them, a setback came directly afterwards. Which makes the fall even deeper. That's why they stay down there, because if you don't expect anything more, you can't be disappointed.

Love, love, love your reactions - especially Rammstein reactions. My understanding is that the musicians create the sound and then Till comes up with the lyrics. He is known as "The Dark Poet" for a reason. Also, the "costumes" they wear are primarily the colors of the German flag (red, gold and black/gray). I hated this song at first, but now it is one of my top 5 personal favorites. So hauntingly beautiful. 😘

You are completely right, Dominica. This is one of those Rammstein songs that you can get lost in it, if you are mentally in a dark place. I usually start crying when I listen to this song. But, there are more songs like this that are very heavy for me (even heavier than this one) and I can listen to them very rarely because, as you said, they are dangerous. Actually, I listen to them when I feel the worst... One of the best examples of such a song, for me, is "Puppe"... I can't wait to see your reaction to it, but I don't think you will feel like me about it, I just think it will shock you. And talking about "Puppe", when you come to that song, please do the album version with lyrics. Btw, listen to "Was Ich Liebe" studio version. It is beautiful and so atmospheric and dark. This live version doesn't have really good sound.

I love studio version, puppe and was ich liebe ❤ when you are not German-speaking. one can forget the meaning of the lyrics and only listen to the voice of till as a musical instrument.

@@juma2619 I don't speak German and I agree for some songs. But, for example, I cannot not to think about the lyrics when I listen to "Puppe". I mean, that chorus... I feel every single word. And there are many other songs that I feel that way as well. But yes, there are songs that I can listen to just for the music.

Hello Domenica and Andre, It has been great to see you guys as a couple, respond to Rammstein songs and videos. Your honest reactions have been both humorous and thought provoking. Thank you for sharing. I’ve always enjoyed Was Ich Liebe. I know the song is “deep,” but have no idea the origins for the lyrics. My wife of 24 years passed away the beginning of December 2022. I do not think this song is about the loss of spouse and being in mourning. It does though hit very hard in that aspect. I am in mourning and miss her. This is a very deep song and I know exactly what he means and how he feels because I myself have also felt and thought the same thing. I have tried not to love and even tried to hate people that i have actually loved because the thought of losing that person you truly love is just too painful. It's a sorta thing like you hurt them before they hurt you which is I know stupid... I hate the fact that i can't hate and I hate the fact that i still love

I subscribed because I like your open minded few of Rammstein and you both are able to see the, at least, double meaning. Till let in his lyrics a lot of space to thinking about it how ever or which direction you want!!!! . One thing is for sure they are no Nazis, even the german media wanted to make them to this! They are east Germans, like me, and grew up under communismn. 10 Years ago I went back to my roots, communismn,. I moved to China! Not about the politics, just about my wife. And in two month we will fly back to europe (after 4 years) AND we will see Rammstein in Budapest in July. I saw them first time in September 1997. Keep on going as well as you already did! Hello you two, I accidentally discovered you on KZbin 2 weeks ago. How you respond to the songs tries to interpret what the band wants to express with the song and how you feel about the song, that makes you totally great. Domenica's emotions touch me very much. I've been listening to Rammstein for over 20 years and have seen them live a few times. The song "Was ich Liebe" was the opener before Corona. They changed the concert because the new album "Zeit" came out at the end of April. In June of this year I saw Rammstein Live in Düsseldorf, where they played the song "Armee der Tristen" as an opener. The song is also super good and for me, next to Zeit and Adieu, it is one of the strongest songs on the new album. Hi, I really love your reactions. There is no need to apologize when you get emotional because of a Rammstein song. What I love about there music is that they always lead you to the border where you have to decide: Can I cope with it or is it too much. I think many listeners have songs that make them happy, others make them sad, or any other feeling. And there might be one where one only can say: ok, that is too much for me. I learned a lot about myself while listening to their music.

The song about a person who has always been disappointed in the greatest happiness and perished because of it. A person who has learned from these disappointments to no longer trust anything or anyone or to put hope in anyone. And if a glimmer of hope arises, he must destroy it for fear of being disappointed again in order to protect himself. The song is about self-sabotage. Many can relate to it.

You can also look on it from a perspective like: If I am "evil" or some sort of evil ... and something happens that makes me happy, then it must be something bad for everyone else who is a "good" person. If I am aware of this situation but I dont want this to happen to people that I like or even love, then I am not allowed to be happy because it automaticly means that it hurts other people. You're so wonderful, at least here is the realization in the song that the protagonist is aware that he is harmful to others and himself. Everything he loves goes to ruin. This is not a happy song - but serious insights into a sick, dark psyche of an human protagonist. This is not good, but it exists. Has not everyone once in his life met a person who harms himself and others or pulls down, Unfortunately, this is also a part of being human. Anyhow, please continue to have fun with this band.
