Bad fuel pump on 3.0 mercruiser

Many thanks for the video. My searay with a Mercruiser 3.0 ran fine on the hard. Once in the water keeps cutting out. Gonna check the fuel pump.

If that don’t work it could be a head gasket which is allow water to get into the combustion chamber.

Same. Ran fine many times at home. Got in water cut off. Carb dry. Happened 2 times

Yea, when I put one on, it runs like a champ and no fuel coming back into the carb

I have that same problem now.. the only thing I can’t find is the gas line.. I ordered everything else

Looking to change both fuel pumps out of a EFI 90hp 2008 mercury...my grey feed internal line separated and clogged my filter, needless to say I got stranded out in the water... went ahead and replaced line and filter then tried again. It seemed to run better but stuttered power and cut out again...was able to putt it back to shore. Looked at at filters (2 inline see through, 1 @ low pressure, 1 @ high pressure) and they are not filled with fuel... no beeps coming from OBD...any suggestions would help...thanks

Try a cheap fuel pump from advance and try it on that to see if that’s the issue

No, I had to order one check NAPA they have some mercruiser stuff. Water pump you can get from auto parts store just for a quick fix. They run them in fork lifts

I have a similar problem, mine keeps bogging out around half throttle. Other then that it runs good. Does any one have a link for the fuel pump?

My mercruiser keeps bugging out. Does anyone have an idea of what could’ve been a bogs out at 3000 RPM at four throttle

This is my problem.... Runs fine out of water, the pump even puts out a good pulse stream when I check with the hose disconnected from the carb. Drop the boat in the water and it got me to the middle of the lake before it wouldn't push any longer. Has anyone used the Mercrusier pump for the OMC 3.0? same motor correct?

Have you checked the fuel filter at the carb?

The filter should be just behind the fuel tube brass plug I think it’s a 7/8 or 5/8 wrench

no ! it’s there to drain leaking fuel from a faulty fuel pump to the carb instead of letting the fuel end up in the bilge

@@hefe3695 so you talking about that upper clear 1/8" line, right? Mine was disconnected on the top where connect to the carb, but the boat can run on the water. I can smell fule and when shifting to reverse, engine die. does that line disconnection cause no reverse? Thanks
