Hey buddy, awesome video. You're very good at what you're doing. I just ran across your video for the first time tonight. Your narrative description of what you're doing as far as addressing the issue and following through with the different steps you're taking to diagnose the problem. I see so many in our industry that don't do this and basically just throw parts at problem. I'm in the marine service industry myself and it's still a passion for me after almost 40yrs. You're damn good at what you do. I look fwd to watching more of your work. So many get into this industry with dollar signs in their eyes. It's pretty cool to see someone with the same passion I have. One last thing ,the time stamp of your video at 11:40 to about 11:56 , I noticed another problem that your customer likely is unaware of. You might want to check out the engine alignment on this 502 . Appears that the front engine mount has worked loose and dropped. The will definitely create more problems in the very near future. I'm sure you probably caught that before finishing up this job. Just wanted to give ya a heads up. Good luck my man. 👍 Craig Deese

Thanks For the comment. Unfortunately most of my videos will have to come down due to unforeseen circumstances. They will go down in about 24 hours, so download whichever ones you want to watch. I will still be working, but unable to post more videos.

Love these videos. I have 2 8.2 Horizons installed on a 340 Sundancer. Out of nowhere, the port manifold on the starboard engine got way hot. I called mercury and they said it's likely that the poppet valve on the starboard manifold is stuck open, which has the result of starving the other side of water. You seem to be pointing at the fitting on the bottom of the poppet valve, rather than the spring loaded poppet valve assembly. Which is generally problematic, the poppet valve, or the ball valve on the bottom?

I didn't realize you're in Irvine. Do you do Mercury warranty service? Boat's in MDR.

We perform service, but not warranty work currently. For warranty work, I suggest Boatswains Locker in the southern California area.

@@SJCompleteMarine Finally removed the cup on the bottom of the valve that holds the check ball. Found a 3 inch strip of black paint that must have come off somewhere else in the engine and lodged in the check ball housing.

Hey…i have the same problem how did you solve this:)

This Problem was solved with a bravo Drive Water pickup tube, The plastic had split in half allowing the engine to suck up air instead of water.
