See how to disassemble a MerCruiser Bravo 2 outdrive lower unit in this video from Boats.net.
Going in, we know we’re going to need a replacement housing for the lower unit on our Bravo 2. However, we may be able to extract and reuse some of the internal components.
John will show you how to remove the prop and drain the lower unit oil first. Then, we’ll have to go to some extreme lengths to remove the bearing carrier. Next, we’ll remove the pinion gear and the bearings.
