Mercury 115 (L6) test run with used OEM coils

A quick water test after I installed the OEM (used) Coils. This time the motor didn't stall when put in gear and accelerated just fine. The next task is to diagnose why the motor doesn't turn past 5000 rpm. Maybe the propeller is too large and / or the pitch too steep? I guess I start shopping for a different propeller. If someone has a recommendation what propeller works best, please leave a comment. Installed prop is a Mercury Laser II 48-16994 24P

It's a small Lake, close to where I live. Location is Withlaccochee State Park near Ridge Manor, Florida. Thank you for your nice comment.

I'd link/sync it. Without helped mine the most. What prop are you spinning? How heavy is the rig?

The prop is a Mercury Laser II, 24p Diameter is 13.5" The boat is a Baja V1400 (14 foot), the weight I think is around 500 lbs empty. With my fat ass and full tank it may total 800 Lbs. I think the engine weighs around 320 lbs.

@@teuton77777 that's a ton of prop. I never ran bigger than 21p but I'm pushing a 17' bass boat. After I link/synced the motor I went back to 19p. Incredible hole-shot. 2mph slower.

I tried a 21 pitch but lost 8mph off the top. Hole shot was pretty much the same yet the motor still didn’t turn past 5000 rpm I did adjust timing and all but I’m sure there’s still something I’m missing
