Port supply gives you a very small amount off on electronics, I think it's less than a 4% discount last time I checked. You get great deals on wires and plumbing tho! Great video, would love to see more of the wiring and wire management side of things especially for a lot of us DIY guys who want ideas on the placement of things and techniques for wire management. Keep up the great content! edit: would also love to see how they wire the speakers as well as tune the amp

I’d look deeper into the current West Marine “swap out” policy with extended warranty issues... I was in there about 6 months ago and observed 2 different customers trying to swap out bilge pumps and they were both told that the policy had changed and that they had to either go through the manufacturer or 3rd party warranty company (can’t remember which scenario...I’m pretty sure the warranty company rather than manufacturer...) in the future rather than just swapping it out in store. West Marine did, however, swap those items out in store because those particular items had been purchased prior to the policy change. Not sure if that’s still a new policy there or not (hopefully not) but it’s worth looking into...

You haven't explained why the 30" shaft yet. Curious
@randy_powell32503 жыл бұрын
They put the bracket up really high on the LTB so dooper recomends the 30." The longer shaft keeps the motor from going under in larger seas as well.
@jiggingjerks3 жыл бұрын
A single on a deep vee boat typically requires a 30 inch motor since it sits over the deepest part of the boat.

Of course after only a few months they would just replace it, Almost everything comes with a limited warranty usually a year! Why don’t you break it and try and exchange it after a year and a half! I hardly ever buy the warranty but on some expensive items I will! My boat is docked in saltwater all summer long!
@jzl300z3 жыл бұрын
@@NeverEnoughPyro40 pretty sure they would exchange it no problem. They gave me brand new box. Even had duplicate totalscan transducer. I do agree within a year its manufacturers warranty but have read other reviews where people exchange it no questions asked. Marine environment is no joke! Sun, saltwater, shocks from hull slapping waves, you name it. Definitely want warranty on electronics.

That's a cool motor! What made you switch to Merc? (Admittedly, I am a Merc guy.) Your old boat had a Yamaha, right? This is not some kind of start a "brand war" thing. I know Yamaha builds a great outboards. I respect their reputation. What made you go with Verado? BTW The boat looks awesome!! I really dig the color.

The transom plate looks like it was put on a little crooked.. and no its not just the camera angle.. And yes in the camera frame the right hand side of the boat is lower.. but.. Looking at all the lines of the boat, n position of the camera, the line of the plate does not line up with the line of the U bolts (which look level to the boat) or the line of the top of the boat (they look like they are off about 1 degree), .. tells me the left side should have been down about 1/4 inch and the right side up about the same.. maybe both more.. or is this done on purpose because of prop rotation direction? To see it for yourself you can freeze the video n use your mouse to lower the picture until the top of the left ubolt is exactly at the top of the picture window and mark with a piece of paper how far down the top of the RIGHT U bolt is.. Then do the same with the top of the plate.. since the plate is a little shorter than the distance between the 2 ubolts, the difference between the height of the left side of the plate and right side should be just a LITTLE less than the difference between the tops of the U bolts,, BUT it is in fact just a little MORE. .. And.. does minimal issues like this make any difference in performance?

Capt Mike, don't let the limited access issue persuade you, the screwless rod holders can be installed in tight spots 99% by hand, and if not, get smaller hands.. JK.. but you finish tightening in place the last 1/4 turn with the special plumber's basin wrenches made for this type issue with hard to access sink and garbage disposal fittings, I think this may work see : kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y53dapaChKdnosU for an explanation and demo of several types. If not you can always weld one up from a set of old wrenches, or look up a crow foot wrench. I'm surprised the company making those holders does not make a specialty wrench or long sheet metal socket for that specific application... OH, is that a UFO floating past in background beside your head from R to L at 15:33 or maybe a blurry airplane or drone ?
