Is that a short shaft or long shaft? I have a 4.5 that is a long shaft I'm wondering if I can make work with my brothers 14 ft aluminum boat. It's not that big of an engine.

Maybe your boat sits a little bit too deep in the water and the motor does not have the torque to get it to plane. A lower pitch prop might do the trick

IV got this same motor and now that IV finally replaced the impeller got it peeing and now I can't get it back in neutral from fwd
