I am watching this on Aug 31, 2024, in Arizona where it is supposed to hit 110 today, so this beautiful, peaceful winter boating adventure is especially appreciated. British Columbia looks like Heaven on Earth (at least away from the big city, although I've heard Vancouver is beautiful), and to enjoy a peaceful, quiet boat ride on a lake that looks like a Christmas card is special indeed. Mercury is on to something with this little electric motor!

Nice video. We will be putting one of these on our pontoon boat this spring so we can use it on our lake where gas motors are prohibited. If I had a choice I would stick with gas, but that is not our reality. I don't need to go fast anyway. One thing that people don't account for is the cost of fuel, oil, etc. over the life of a gas outboard. Separate the cost of the electric outboard from the cost of the $1100 battery and now you have a better comparison. No one goes out and pays for $1,100 in fuel and oil when they first buy their small outboard motor, but some will easily over the course of their ownership.

@@Mr.Z1776 it’s not an argument. Who said anything about replacing the battery every 3 years?…lol,

Been wanting to get an electric motor for a long time. We do all year boating in NZ and our 2.5hp outboard has been unreliable lately, much hassle to keep a small outboard running. Only issue these new in NZ are $6200 NZD 😅 Don’t understand why electric outboards are so expensive.

Speaking about trolling on a lake, i have a small electric trolling motor but there is no place to put it on the transform ( pro 320 ) how can i fix it on the front, do you guys have recommended product/solution?

for the $3500 did it even come with a battery? a brand new honda 9.9 is roughly $1000 less

Yes it does come with a battery. I don’t think these will be replacing gas outboards anytime soon. What I do really like about it is it’s incredibly light and easy to use. There’s no gas. There’s no fumes. There’s no oil getting all over your seats or in the back your truck and you hardly have to even consider that you’re carrying an outboard when you’re transporting this around it’s just a piece of equipment that you have that’s incredibly easy to own similar to a cordless drill . There’s no noise and it does everything I need it to do for small trips like this out on the lake. It won’t be for everybody, but there is certainly group of people that will really appreciate having a motor like this. Personally, I will be one of those people and I will also own many gas outboards. if you enjoy technology and you enjoy nice things having one of these in your quiver will allow you to use your boat in a different way. 😎💯⚓️

Cool, but not very practical; at least for me. For $12 I can go a long ways on 4 gallons of fuel, FAST. But if no one buys them, it won't get better.
