We are finally on the home stretch with the installation of our Mercury Racing 500EFIs and outdrives. In this video we do our best to not drop our Mercury 500s as they dangle from the loader of the tractor. With the engines and drives installed all thats left are a few odds and ends and we should be ready to start Parrot Head up and get ready for a water test! Stay tuned. Check us out on social media at Barrowed Time on Facebook, barrowed_time1 on Instagram, or reach out to us via email at barrowedtime1@yahoo.com

Thanks for following along. Unfortunately, I don't believe we are going to make it for Thunder. We've got a big trip planned in the RV the following week and have to get things situated before we leave.

If I’m not mistaken, I think I’ve seen you guys out on rough river maybe 2-3 years ago. Maybe not, usually don’t see boats that size out there

on the Starboard drive when installing the shift, if you pull out the shift lever it will make it easier to spin the prop to align the splines. leave cable in neutral and when you push the drive on it will shift the drive back into neutral.

will spring ever come full force just limping alone here looks like you are dressed pretty warm there too. we just got 3 inches of snow AGAIN GEZ I think there are ways to change the engine position, nuts to adjust on the engine mounts to move the enigine up or down to get that alignment smooth do you have KIK or any others besides instagram? nice to have a great helper mine helps to sometime you need 3 hands or more

If you listened to the video, I have Offshore mounts, there is no adjustment. Facebook and Instagram are our only social media platforms other than KZbin.

When installing the engines with the drives already on, the spline shaft going from the drive into the transmission won’t slide in very easily and seems to be blocked by the shaft bc it isn’t perfectly straight due to the u-joint. Any tips or should the drives come off and the engines be placed first, like you did, then put the drives on? Thanks the drives we have are SSM 5.

I've never had to do a set of engines with #5s, but removing them first is the easiest. The engine is the bulkiest part of the equation, and you want to get it set and lined up.

if i may ask did you have to get new insurance on paret head or stay with who you have im looking now to get quotes for my boat anyone have good insurance companies to go with for performance boats? thank you!
@BarrowedTime
@BarrowedTime 2 жыл бұрын
I did not have to get new insurance. Parrot Head is still insured under the same policy we had as before at our local Farm Bureau office. However, because of the increase in value of the boat and the cost of the new trailer, we will probably be switching to WIA insurance out of Missouri. They specialize in performance boats and support alot of the events we go to.

What is the fuel consumption on 4500rpm?
@BarrowedTime
@BarrowedTime Жыл бұрын
Probably around 0.5-0.75 miles to the gallon. If we keep it between 3500-4000 then it gets about 1mpg
@jkrsecret
@jkrsecret Жыл бұрын
@@BarrowedTime So how much it would be at 4000rpm per hour?
@BarrowedTime
@BarrowedTime Жыл бұрын
I honestly don't know the fuel burn per hour. I don't have flow meters in the fuel lines.
