Really good explanation at the beggining on how a works race car team can work ive spent countless hours trying to figure some of that out.

5:30 - why are those cylinder heads ported like that? Are these different castings than standard VK56 heads? I know it's common in series like Nascar to get a basic casting from factory and then teams to port the cylinders to there specification. Have you guys always used this method? Would be cool to see more on this.

These cars are as far from the parent brand as it gets. Tightly regulated, homologated vehicles with company decals slapped to them. Not a criticism on you

Question, if anyone can answer it, how much HP lose when running in Darwin hot humid temps compared to Melbourne cold days, i know the engine are tested and Stainless steel wire is used to tier off all those areas to make sure that it passes the laws and its not tampered with before a race so if you have on a dyno and 650HP and all the teams are the same as far as HP is concerned, but i am positive that the HP is on tap a lot quicker in colder temps, thats what i believe and when they are tested in QLD the HP fingers would be totally different if they were done in Melb, as far as coolant oil and other fliud temps as well. :)

Dyno's use correction factors so regardless of where it is tested, the figures should be comparable. However, the tune up could certainly be a little different.

must be atleast 680bhp... probably quite a bit more according to the graphs

I think from memory the regulations limit total output to 650 horsepower. Truth is the Nissan engine would be stupidly powerful if it wasn't held back by the rules! I'd love to see a supercar engine built without compression, cam and rev limit rules, see what it could really do!

@@ZedTee77 At 13-14:1 CR and an easy 9000+ rpm redline, I think the plus side of 800 hp is realistic.
