Here’s a theory that probably isn’t true, my theory is that maoh king/wizard king is the same person as jo azuma, the protagonist of the previous genma wars series, my theory goes that the previous characters died, and that jo blamed himself for their deaths, and joined the great genma so he wouldn’t have to deal with his emotions. Again, I’m probably wrong, I have this AU scenario where meena doesn’t die (she’s the character that looks like artimus from cyborg 009) but loof does, telling her to raise their unborn child, she gives birth, and names him ryu who becomes the protagonist of this AU scenario, Jin succeeds maoh king/wizard king and transforms into a demonic skeleton like creature with four horns and its up to ryu and a band of psychics to defeat him and a fully grown dar/ great genma, which they do successfully.

The Man responsible for Godzilla and Ultraman! Akira really wanted to get into anime, but it was clear that even though his intentions were noble, he still screwed over a lot of Go Nagai’s and Ishinomori’s works due to how limited his knowledge was on Anime, the Industry and the considerable amount of Money he had to put into the projects, only for all that effort to really be Bottom of the Barrel due to how constrained the budget was.

@@attackofthecopyrightbots I bought the manga and got to read it (without knowing Japanese). All I can say the manga it's slightly better. It cuts down on the rape, (Mostly of the weird king's part) and there was a lot of slight changes. 1st- The manga doesn't go that deep with the mom's backstory. (Anime definitely makes her dying sadder) 2nd- The monkeys have guns and not swords and that one monkey boss was never turned into a doll and never got to introduce the vain girl. 3rd-Wolf dude was never shown to be transformed nor his 1st pupil killed. Also his bottom half was completely blown off during his death. 4th- Filler episodes include the added aristocrat and Meena's hometown. 5th-Wizard King was never killed. He just straight sent them back in time with Dah not being a major villain. 6th- The Skull city arc had WAY TOO many changes. Luna was a cat lady and not a biker girl (she also never became one of the twin's lover) and she also got to live with the biker boyfriend (travelled though time with Dah and the Twins). The twins actually left the lady who cared for them to die in the nuclear explosion. Monkeys weren't even a thing in this arc. There was too many changes to this arc to compensate that the manga ended with the twins, dah, the biker dude and Luna travelling through time) I probably skipped thought a lot of other minor changes but honestly non of them were really major. The manga gave me closure that it wasn't as bad as the anime but not by much.

Dear god, this show is as much of a mess as I've been told. So much WHAT alone in this video my brain can't take it. I haven't seen any Ishinomori stuff aside from Gilgamesh, but this is a travesty. More than the Kikaider anime, no matter what BennetTheSage says. I would like to apologize on behalf of all of humanity for the poor treatment Harmagedon got. Seeing what came afterwards we didn't know better. Interesting fact about this show: it was one of many produced by Akira Tsuburaya, the son of the creator of TsuburayaPro. Many shows from many creators were chosen, from Leiji Matsumoto (Gun Frontier) to Mitsuteru Yokoyama (Babel II: Beyond Infinity) and even Go Nagai (Demon Lord Dante). Barom One was also a part of this. With the exception of the Matsumoto shows, all these shows apparently sucked and were farmed out to minor end studios like E&G. The whole thing ended with Tsuburaya getting into legal trouble for one reason or another. You can read more here: landofobscusion.blogspot.com/2018/02/akira-tsuburayas-retro-modern-anime.html Another fun fact, these shows were sublicensed to Enoki Pictures (as you mentioned), who in the early 2000's struck a deal with Media Blasters to distribute some of their shows. Babel II & Genma Wars were licensed after MB's success with other Enoki shows like Zenki & Gokudo. But they flopped so hard that MB quit the deal and never worked with Enoki again.

Kikaider the Animation is awesome. Gilgamesh was just boring as hell. The manga is a weird dark comedy, its at least funny. Cyborg 009 2001 is amazing.
