That's one of the things I love best about the Stray Cats. Slim Jim Phantom can get more rhythm out of two drums than a lot of drummers with a full drum kit that takes up half the stage. 😁

@@fostexfan160 He's just not as recognizeable as maybe Eric Clapton or David Gilmour these days. Rockabilly is not for everyone, I mean.. I love it, especially these guys, but I'm one of those who are totally dissapointed with todays music overall. I wish people just would go back to the roots and listen to the art of music produced by these old Rock'n'Roll and Rockabilly bands.

I had a DJ friend who worked late at night. When this song would begin to play i would call the back line of the station and ask him to play it. Got it back to back at least once a weekend. He made their radio ads so was playing big reel to reel tapes and not listening. 😂 One of my all time favorite songs and bands. 🎉

Saw these boys live in London at around this time. It was a great show, and they play just as well live as on the record. But there is even more energy live because of the audience. Great band.

I just watched a special from this guy with full brass, the base player, girls singing and the whole arrangement! It was hands down the best talent I've ever seen. Unbelievable..... Song I loved best was how he did sleepwalking. Outstanding. It was a concert in Tokyo......AMAZING! It was priceless. I love your passion for music. thank you Brian. grace 1014

The best Brit/Mod music of the 60s, played live, was stripped down and played hard. And this is in the same tradition, even if a different style. Anyone who likes real music can't help but love these old Stray Cats recordings.

Having first learned of this song in a 9-volume fantasy/sci-fi series [excellent; author Julian May spent 30 years writing for encyclopedias, and her sci-fi is laced with REAL science, made utterly fascinating by her word-smithery], I was delighted to find "the real thing." It has not disappointed!

This was the year I saw the Stray Cats at Leeds University Union. I still maintain that this, and Simply Red, right at the beginning just after Picture Book, were the best pop concerts I ever saw, and I saw nearly everyone except Queen and the Beatles.

Interesting enough, if you listen carefully, you might discover that the Stray Cat Strut originally came out decades before the Stray Cats changed the lyrics. It was originally a children’s tune called “The Cat Came Back”.
