@@sciencenotstigma9534 Thank you! My first time ever on probation I was placed on Intensive Probation (IPS). After many violations for dropping dirty and other things, my probation was revoked and I was sent to prison. So I'm pretty well versed in probation, unfortunately. Ha ha!

Poor Mercy! I hope she keeps on her grind to do better. It's hard when you are born into a lifestyle like this. It's really hard to break generational curses, but we need to give our youth wayyyyy more credit when they legitimately try their hardest to do so!!! I know when I struggled with homelessness in my own past, I would try my hardest to do the right thing and keep my hands clean, but sometimes you really do feel like your back is up against the wall and that your only options are either do a lil dirt, or you aren't gonna make it. The instinct to survive just kicks in. . . 💯🤷🏽‍♀️ I can not imagine the kind of trauma and ptsd that Mercy and soooo many of our young people have had to endure, and still have to try to manage on a daily and live with! It was very telling to me when Mercy talked about realizing her mother was in jail with her. She said she heard her mom crying and thought at first she was imagining it from being homesick bc she always thinks she hears her crying when she's homesick. 😥 That statement was heartbreaking to me; that Mercy correlates the sound of her mother crying with being home with her. Again, who knows what kind of abuses her and her mother have endured, or what Mercy has seen her mom go through. It seems like Mercy has felt like most of her life she has had to help her mom and guide her mom through life, otherwise be overcome by exorbitant amounts of guilt and shame. I understand that feeling all too well, but unless Mercy sets down some boundaries for herself and the people in her life, they will slowly just keep pulling her down until she is all used up. I finally had to wake up and do that myself. . . I still struggle with the guilt I give myself, but overall, my life is a MILLION times better. You really do have to help yourself before you can help everyone around you. That's why, in an airplane, they tell you to put on your oxygen mask first in an emergency because how much help can you be if you don't do that and then pass out yourself?? And as far as family goes, well, sometimes they can be just as toxic or scandalous, sometimes even more than a stranger on the street would be. In my personal experience, the whole saying "blood is thicker than water" is just something that people say to you because they are trying to turn up that guilt inside you and manipulate you in some way for their benefit. Again, that's just been in my personal experiences. Blood may be thicker than water, but at least it makes it easier to swim out of the water, not have to try harder to paddle out of the blood, only to sink slowly down in it, until you drown anyway. That's what I started telling myself when it came to certain family members and how badly they affected my mental health, either from just straight up being selfish and toxic, or by me beating myself up from the guilt I would put on my own shoulders. I finally started being an advocate for myself and setting healthy boundaries. After a while, that feeling of guilt will slowly go away, especially when it can be replaced by feeling proud of yourself instead and how far you have come from where you started. 😄 I hope you get to see this Mercy, and know that there are people in the world that you have never met that are rooting for you and keeping you in their prayers. That even on nights when you feel your most down and hopeless, you are not alone. There are thousands of us out there who have shared some of your experiences and really do know the struggle like you do. People who want to see you succeed and have literally NOTHING to gain from it, other than feeling happy that you're living a life that gives you genuine happiness and true satisfaction. You deserve a life where you don't have to worry and stress over food and shelter instability. I will continue to keep you in my prayers and hope that you never give up on yourself! ❤️❤️❤️

Her GoPuff hat made me think. It would be cool if GoPuff would allow some of the homeless to pick up orders and deliver within a certain range if they have a bike. Just to maybe help them make a little something. I know I am a couple miles from a location and I wouldn't have any problem with them delivering my stuff. But I'm sure they have to have ID or documents for taxes or something. It would just be nice to help them with some easy simple job that around their areas since homeless are everywhere.
