I think this unnecessary storyline with Mer going to jail and Bailey being pregnant is just another reason for them to keep the show going and going and going. We are not connected to the current cast or at least NOT like we used to. The old cast was great. The glory days of Grey's will never come back. Shonda and Krista made sure of that.

I agree, there was a time when I couldn't wait til the next episode of this show came on. One of the final straws for me was when Derrick died, but then I still watched because they had a good enough portion of my favorite characters left...then they all started to drop like flies. Callie, Arizona, April, etc. I don't care about Link or the anybody else that's new. Most of the show's viewers must be women because when they first started advertising commercials(repeatedly showing chests and muscles)with Link and the hot Asian doctor, I guess Shonda was trying to lure the female audience back? Wasn't enough for me tho, I'll check back up to see if any of my favorites returned every now and then but I prefer to watch the earlier seasons back when the cast was brilliant.

Actually i think it's great thar Bailey is pregnant because of her age and menopause condition her pregnancy could be or could get dangerous and also the fact that ben had/has alway wanted a baby besides tuck, and meredith going to jail it's going to be amazing because i'm pretty sure that she is going to rock it, i mean what if she saves a guard or somebody in prision/jail and that way she could get out easily or what if she discover that the people in jail doesnt get the proper medical atention and she fights for those people so that they could get atention or i dontk know

I think it's necessary. Before they become attendings , the most of the scenes are about love stories or romantic angles. But majority of the loyalty fans are the grown-up and somepeople are even inspaired to a physician or surgeon because of the show. The storylines focus on something is macro such as health care system and the micro scenario that doctors face in reality. Practice medicine but patient are not financially blessed and uninsured and Doctors carry babies at the very late stage of midlife. The show isn't all about the perfection (meaningful , great paid job , perfect children and lovely husband) for audiences , it tells stories in reality. Life isn't perfect but you have to move on because the carousel never stops turning. And When nobody dies , it's a good day. That's dark...

I remember when Derrick yelled at Mer about the fact that she doesn’t take responsibility for her actions. This was after she messed with the trial. Then after she took ZoeZoe, afraid she was going to be taken. Mer has a heart for what she does. Like going to William’s execution. She cried cause she couldn’t understand why she had compassion for such a horrible person. She’s always been this way. Deluca sees what Derrick saw but Mer refuses to stop being who she is. Bailey being preggo is great. I’m almost 40 and haven’t had a baby yet even though I’ve been married for 16 years. Even tho it’s just a show, it makes my heart smile!

When they let Sarah Drew (April) go. That was the turning point for me, especially when they put Jackson with Maggie, which was not cohesive with the characters AT ALL. Then letting Bailey go on a power trip, and firing Meredith, Richard & Alex (It is like she forgot she had given a child genetically mutated HIV WITHOUT Parental Consent). The storylines used to blend seamlessly together, keeping us emotionally invested while maintaining character integrity & growth.
