I haven't seen this place for such a long time.. probably 26 years now. I left this place at the age of 20 ( after college ) then migrated to Malaysia with my whole family. Now I'm already 47 years old, Malaysian citizen 🤭 But I haven't had the time yet to go back and visit this island. I missed this place 😢 and Thank you for sharing this video ❤️👍 By the way.. Are you single? I have a 25 years old Filipina/ Chinese daughter here, and she's single too 😁 she's currently working independently. It would be nice if you can visit here in Malaysia too. 😊👍 I had swam in that same place you swam when I was a little girl 😂 probably around 9 to 12 years old too at that time 😂 But I think that area is much cleaner before though 🤭 yet the water was still the same, crystal clear 👍

Why the f they make it hard to travel just getting a ferry ticket is a lot of time wasted Philippines need to change this mentality if they want more tourist to come.

Stunning clear waters, very friendly and warm locals, cheaper cost of living, serene and peaceful environment. Just few of the many reasons why Dumaguete is preferred by so many expats who chose to retire and settle in this quaint and lovely city.

Dumaguete. Very nice place... really amazing atmosphere. I studied at Silliman U in the 1970s, but I haven't been back in 26 yrs. I miss the Boulevard, there in your intro scenes. So that's how it looks now. Yes, the sea is fabulous, the inspiration of "Silliman beside the sea"... SU's literary annual "Sands and Corals". Then the beautiful SU coeds. Oh,my. The green sprawling campus, the acacia trees along the Silliman Avenue , the dorms. Many newer buildings must have sprouted. The last construction I witnessed was the SU Medical Center.

@bero.11823 күн бұрын
0:37 with all respect, it's not true, the water is quite dirty due to sewage being drained there and you can even tell by the smell, not recommended at all to swim there, however there are other cleaner and safer options just a few minutes away from dumaguete itself

Wait till you see the port in Siquijor specially during rainy season, there is a white sandbar in the port. Most of the foreigners there are in Valencia, the most calm and beautiful part od Dumaguete.

I agree that it's really inconvenient going too far just to buy a ticket, but I think they do it because a heavy traffic, long queue might be created inside the port which cause inconvenience to other people and passengers
@pilotusa6 ай бұрын
When they redesigned the port buildings they could have made allowances for ticketing counters in the building. Can you imagine if if airports were run like the Dumaguete Port. You would have to drive to Makati to buy your tocket out of NAIA.

It's mind boggling how a lot of organizations (or lack of) be it private or public entities don't seem to see the obvious inefficeiency of their system. It seems that nothing mch has really change with the phils in the past couple decades.
@pilotusa6 ай бұрын
I love your video! Finally, someone who experiences the absolute frustration of trying to navigate the incredibly user UNfriendly infratructure here in Dumaguete. The easiest way to find the place to buy your ticket is to find the longest line at the port....well actually not the port but blocks away from the port. Then stand on line for hours in the heat (as you began to do.) The port is about as bad as it gets with government planned inconvenience (try bringing a car out of the port to Mindanao!) Dumaguete is definitely the city of gentle people, to be sure. But it is not the city of "bright urban planners and progresive politicians."
