Hi everyone! I had and fully built my 98 GSX. Was just watching and wanted to fill in the facts about the balance shafts from the Eclipse 4G63 community. To start the reason why I decided to remove them was the belt that runs the balance shaft snapped/worn out and I was VERY LUCKY that I did not bend valves. That's a good reason to remove them. Also, the belt runs the oil pump as well. There are 2 types of ways of doing the elimination. There is a stubby fake shaft about 3" long that fills the space so oil pressure and routing stay like factory. The other way is a shortened version which is modified from your core that still sits in the block retaining stock mid-bearing. With the stubby kind you put block off bearings in or remove yours and rotate to block oil ports. There are a few reasons why the modified shaft is better. It's normal turned on a lathe to remove the weighted material leaving it as just a rod with the bearing section still intact. Someone can look up the pros n cons. With the RED bushing (engine, trans, roll stops) is not to bad. I forget the density of the mount bushing but I had the stiffest set. Hope I was helpful in someway, its late for me so I wrote this before going to bed my bad if it sounds retarded at some point 😂

man i remember back in the day with my 9, i had the double din and relocation kit on the bottom for my defi gauges... didnt really think about where to place my climate control. So i hid it in the glove compartment. It was so ghetto on my part. When I go on dates, i was so embarassed to turn on the AC so I would just tell them, sorry no AC... Race car! lol
