"Enemies give us a chance to practice our tolerance or patience." How beautiful is that??? What a positive way to look at it.

THANK GOD / Buddha Nature / Life, I need this right now !!! 8 months of living with and taking care of my elderly mother --- I keep forgetting what His Holiness says --- that she's my teacher, the best opportunity to practice patience, compassion and forgiveness, that sometimes it's OK to express but it can be overdone, that I will never be able to control all circumstances, so I need to focus on changing my inner process and practicing inner peace. Anger is the enemy, not my mother.

+Jammy tupten I didn't see what he said like that at all. He wasn't demonizing anger. He seemed to acknowledge that it is quite normal but that it disrupts your peace of mind and can be destructive. In some instances, he even acknowledged the need to let it out. The main thing he seemed to be saying is to adopt the proper outlook of tolerance not suppression as this is a benefit to the self and by extension, all beings.

After a lot of self help reading and counselling I get how not to be judgemental and controlling so many triggers etc. However I recently discovered my brother and father made my mother sign away everything in her name (two houses and money) to my brother in his sole name - without my mother understanding what she was doing. Now, I am my mother's full time carer - and have lived with her (and a-now-disowned-dad) my whole life. My life has been given over to my mother - who has parkinsons - and I am 41. This is what I had resigned my life to. After a lot of legal advice and my mother's desire to take the path of least resistance - there is nothing we are going to do about this - my mother simply can't due to her health. I am INCREDIBLY angry about this whole situtation. My brother has gained EVERYTHING and my parents didn't even spare me a thought. somewhere - I think my mother was ok with what they did. I can sum up my life as being the scapegoat in the family, a female who has no value according to my parents, someone who lost a career due to expectations of me putting the family and family business first, someone who has no friends, no life of my own to speak of, no good relations ANYWHERE. I am the youngest and have always carried this household selflessly - and they have all lived off me - the one non earning person in the house. (I have rental income) Tell me - PLEASE - how do I not be angry with my entire family and how do I not HATE them and how do I even consider FORGIVING them? The anger I feel reverberates throughout the universe

Thank you for sharing sister...... i Sometimes feel like i have been the scapegoat of our family. One of the major issue is, from the young age we are taught (in school, family and society)about how moral and ethical/logical/rational we human beings are . and we should try our level best to obey by it, they dont give us the chance to ask any question rather busy teaching what they want us to behave (like a Pure slave). They dont properly guide us for the rational mind to understand what part does Religion play in our life (family, society,country) . They dont tell us clearly , that they also dont know the meaning of life and why everyone requires a ideological view point to move forward in Life. then after the education ends suddenly they through us in a bottomless pit where we come to the realization they were lying to us the whole time , wasted our best part of our life and only thing our generation can come up with is 140 word tweets of solving the world problems and bring back piece in our life. As we dont dig deep, we think that state problems cant be solved with religion, Viewing the current scenario no one has to proof the kid that there in No God who loves Human, otherwise how could he let so many innocent ppl surfer. So goodbye religion, Before our generation humanity was driven by certain ideology. Different group of ppl had different thought process about how to govern earth . they sacrificed calculating what benefit they Will get against instance reward. as we dont have that moral direction to get an understanding in which battle we will stand for and in who is our real enemy. by this we have become the modern day slave , without chains , loans taken against us by the government by selling our birth certificates to IMF, world Banks, the other financial Aid helper hiding behind a mask , emptying our last penny in the name of development, in the end they give us a suicide pill( last financial loan) in a candy wrapping paper when we cant pay there interest let alone the original amount. that is the final act for the country , killing the nation without any extra force. We are going to view this very often in the coming years. As for you Jay Jay , by pushing you to take care of your mother , they have done the best possible thing they could for you. Taking care of parents is one of the biggest duties that the capitalistic nation has sublet-ed it to other providing great pain inside their parents, as they pass their life in disbelief remembering how many days he/she has given for his child, and what percentage of his monthly income was spend on that small little human baby, For what, getting repaid like this manner, if human beings were so Nobel by themselves, they wouldn't need religion to teach them the common cutesy, to take care of the ppl that took there time making sure this child gets every chance of being what ever he wants to be so that they can be happy in life. Ever ones problem is unique , no one can truly understand the exact feelings or thought going inside a lonely terrified mind. As i have mentioned i once felt i was the scapegoat of the family, your one word has opened my Pandora's Box. At that time i felt like no one would ever understand my situation , so reason sharing that anyone also. that might create extra pressure on me, as i tried to maintain the morality believing deep inside that there cant be any logical reason for a person to shout and verbally abuse another person , so when ever anyone shouted or raised their voice with me , i tried to retrain my self from them, giving the time to calm them down and start a normal conversion for the disagreement we have. This way didnt help at all. PPl do loose normal civic scene when they get angry and used to thought i backed out cause i didn't have any argument to fight for . Now i have different approach for it, but always keep in mind, not to argue with stupids/idiots, they will take you down to their irrational level and beat u in their game. As judging my condition , it took me a while to understand that , everything that was happening to me , was 50% my fault in the scene that i was letting all those negative things happening to me and not fighting it , so that at-least i can proof to myself that morally i am at least a couple of steps in the leader. their is no moral lader, we decide what should be morality at that particular time period of History. As i started blaming myself , i got more stuck into my own duped grave. the first step out of it for me was FORGIVING MYSELF first. First i denied , i did all the right things, they did unjust to me. Then again who promised you this was a just world . After forgiving myself , i figured out my faults, , try to figure out in which part of the topic , or which time of the argument i loose track of the points. studied like a game plain , and things started to go on in the direction i wanted without shouting with anyone. Family is a very big part in our culture, staying with them and being angry with each other wont help anyone, on the other-hand the ppl in-between your fight will be also effected by your negativity . if the sources doesn't get fix, this type of negativity only increases and burn other stuff. Share your problems to the one you at least trust, share your pain, if there is no one else, then dump it in social media. remember the stories that your whole family used to be together. . the Hardest part i faced was forgiving myself. once i did that other things came within very short time. Sorry if the writing went too big, by discussing your prob, Basically i was dumping my wastage and reflecting the mental capacity a brain can go through is ineradicable, in my dark time , i could have never thought i could get out of those situation, now i cant imagine how was i there in that position in the first place. Your Mother Is a lucky person Having a daughter like you. . Pls dont try to find any logical solution on the above jibrish i wrote. Just trying to get the Final Zest of the anger out by sharing with unknown person that i might ever meet again, but at least for a brief moment i felt more connected to your reality then the original reality i face each day. All i wanted to write to you was I dont have All the answer , In life i Failed , as much as i succeed. !! But I Love my Family, As much as they love me, . And i wish you My kind of Success. :)

I'm really sorry you went through all of that. But I think if you try not to take it personally and stay as objective and detatched as possible.. you might see the truth, whatever that might be.. And I doubt it's personal... Blacksheeps and scapegoats are common in dysfunctional families, have you tried reading up on that? Alot of your' indignation will lessen once you realize it has nothing to do with you, personally.

When you rely on others to achieve a state of happiness, you are never truly happy. Sitting alone and thinking about your own interests, your own ambitions, your own fufillment... and smiling... that is happiness. There is a saying, "Whatever you are, be a good one." While it is difficult to handle the reliance upon others, freeing yourself from that will enable you to see that no matter where you are in life, there is always a better place at the next leg of your journey.

We are constantly looking towards others for resources . Our own anger is partly a belief that we will always get what we deserve, When we don't we are realy angry at ourselfes because we attempted to gain that resource and we feel we have failed. The other person also is looking for resources from others . we in reality don't deserve anything

Then the question becomes about how much you are able to tolerate... Anger can be a gift. Anger can also be a "curse". Rage can be a gift if it is used out of compassion i guess.. But i agree it destroys peace of mind.

Any "perceived enemy" is a perception of the mind thinking, it becomes an enemy when the heart choses to fight in response to the threat presented. While the threat is an invalid threat there is no real enemy but rather a thought form which has a momentum of it's own. Perceived threats in comparison to "premeditated or thought out" threats comparitively have a varied response depending on a person's personal attainment and awareness of the environment the threat is presented in. These perceived threats can become blessings "if" the mind perceiving the threats "sees" the threat as a solution. It is personal choice to wrestle the dragon which presents itself as a threat. The ultimate truth, "it" is likly a mirrored commonality or group manifestation "within" the environment which creates a response in the individual which is the real threat. Do I ponder "it" or allow "it" to serve as a teacher to those who resonate with it? The personal choice. Honor the dragon spirit "it" likely has a purpose which "it" holds dear which is why "it" can be perceived as a threat. Some teachings unfold as the purpose of the individual learning dictates or allows. God is humorous!

Can somebody who knows about these stuff explain to me. When somebody says get rid of your negative emotions and you will be happy,getting rid of emotions doesn't get rid of the situation...isn't it being happy and lying yourself,like living in a illusion you created yourself. That's why i can't,because i always think that.
@thesam9833
@thesam9833 8 жыл бұрын
DenisDLight The idea is more about changing your reaction and your mental state when dealing with external "enemies", which would in turn change how you feel about those situations and "enemies", than it is about simply discarding your emotions all together. Anger, sadness, hatred, these are all examples of emotional mismanagement. Just because a situation is not ideal, or the best that it could be, does not mean that situation is bad. That's your perception deceiving you. Buddhism teaches that your suffering stems from your attachment, in this case your attachment to how you want, think, or desire a situation to happen or not happen at all. External pain and inconveinence is inevitable but how you react to this is totally and entorely within your hands. Try living in gratitude and be thankful for even the smallest of things, this has helped me greatly. It is not an easy path, but I believe the results can be acheived by consistently following it.

Communism only sounds nice, a communist system just like a democratic system always goes badly due to us simply being human. His Holiness the Dalai Lama doesn't seem to know how anger arises for common folks in the West. There's always an underlying dissatisfactory reason which serves as a catalyst for an anger... when things don't go as expected; planned or loved. There's no such as an anger by itself without relating to any of its cause that matters to an individual. "For example, our countries can be invaded; our possessions can be destroyed, and our friends can be separated, but these are secondary" the Dalai Lama said... Seriously?
