MERIEMIA VILLAGE CELEBRATES MASS CHRISTMAS Meriema, December 25: #Meriema village celebrated combined mass Christmas at Pheriezou Ground, Meriema, under the theme: "Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord." "Kelakelieu Niepuu Khrista sü penuoliete" (Luke 2:11). #Keduolhoulie Huozha, Thenyi Convenor, expressed joy and gratitude as the entire village of Meriema came together to celebrate Christmas as one unified community, transcending denominational differences. It is inspiring to see diverse religious groups-Baptist, Revival, Pentecost, and Catholic congregations-joining hands to organize the mass Christmas celebration, showcasing the spirit of unity and shared purpose. The initiative, spearheaded by the village council with the support of the churches, has brought together all six khels of the village. Even villagers residing in other places returned to partake in the celebration, emphasizing their enduring connection to the community. The primary objective of this mass celebration is to unite everyone in prayer and festivity, fostering mutual understanding and strengthening the village's social fabric to promote collective growth and harmony. The celebration began on 24 December evening where the program commenced with #Kelhoulezo Shüya, Pastor In-charge, BCM, as the Chairperson. #Neilakuolie Huozha, Pastor, CRC Meriema preached the word of God on the Topic: "The people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned." "Kezei-u nu ketuo themiako kezie kezha puo nguliete" (Matthew 4:16) Key Highlights of the event includes; Song Leader Khrieasetuo Viluo and Instrumentalist Khriebeinuo Keditsu alongside Praise and worship Team led by Andrew Praise Team, BCM. Bible Reading from Old Testament Keduokienyü Huozha, Deacon, Upper Nagabazar Baptist Church followed by New Testament Petekhrienuo Üsou. Catholic Khriesarüü Krotho and The Pentecostal Khriesarüü Krotho performed special songs. Greetings was shared by Neidilhou Keditsu, President MVGOK ON 25 December morning devotional service was led by Siekuolie Yaotsu, Asst. Pastor, CRC Meriema while Song Leader was led by Kekhriesetuo Keditsu and instrumentalist by Khriesanuo Phewhuo. The event featured sermons by Rev. Keduolhoulie Shüya, Baptist Church Meriema, focusing on the theme: Luke 2:11 "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord." The celebration began with an Invocation Prayer by James Thomas, Pastor In-charge, The Pentecostal Church Meriema. This was followed by Bible Reading in the Old Testament by Dziesetseilie Ciesotsu, Deacon, Model Village Baptist Church, 5th Mile Dimapur followed by New Testament: Vizotuolie Lhousi, Catechist, St. John Vianney Catholic Church Meriema Special song was Performanced by CYE, CRC and BKK, BCM.
