I absolutely love the Yaqi Rainbow brush. I have had it for about 10 months and use it every 2nd day. It has good scrub and backbone yet has very soft fibres.

Hey Paul, Glad to see this video. I'm slightly curious about the bakelite razors. I've never used one, so it was good to hear you talk about and use one here. It was especially nice to hear your opinion about the Yaqi Rainbow brush. I saw it on the AliExpress website, liked the looks of it, and inquired about its backbone. The reply I got spoke for the brush's having enough backbone, so I bought it and received it 2 to 3 weeks ago. It is a beauty and very comfortable and effective to use. It doesn't have me wishing for more backbone. I'm very pleased with the purchase and the performance. Very reasonable price. Glad to see, here, that your opinion confirmed what I have experienced. I have a Wilkinson Sword Shave Soap tub and a shave stick of theirs, as well. Haven't used the shave stick, but have gotten a good lather from the tub and with, in my opinion, a nice scent. Will be interesting to use the stick and get an understanding of some of your reasons for being so enthusiastic about it. Thanks, Paul. Cheers.

Funnily enough I was shopping for paint and wallpaper in the cash and carry, and came across Brut aftershave and splash on lotion. They were both swiftly purchased for less than a fiver. And my shave with the 10 Bob Palmolive stick was top class 👌🏻

Paul I love the rainbow handle on the yaqi brush but hate that particular knot it comes with. I wish they would offer choices of knots. Yaqi brushes are really awesome brushes and I would love to have more if I could get the knots I want.

Nicely done Paul, kind of a "standard" shave, nothing too fancy. Yeah, the handle on that brush looks nice, the size is right. I've tried lots of shave sticks, that one has eluded me..🤨 The Bakelite 45 is really a good travel razor, efficient also. Beautiful display of royal red today, thanks to Mrs H. The Merkur 45 is one of my two favorite razors! And the Special Reserve is one of my favorite scents. If you'd used a sharp star blade and col conk soap, you would have done one of my shaves!

Good afternoon Paul! Oh, my...those are some lovely red Gladiolus...thank you Mrs. H. Asking about my health? I am still breathing and above ground, so I am great! hehe. I am waiting to shave as I watch your video...hoping the Karve CB razor arrives in the post today. I learn so much from you about different techniques and the large variety of wet shaving products available for use. Thanks. I genuinely like the PolSilver SI blades...they beat out the Gillette Nacet blades as my go-to travel blade. Of course, these go-to blades change from time to time and are dependent on the particular razor...I find that PolSilver blades work well in most of my razors...same with the Nacet blades. I believe the PolSilver blades feel smoother on my face. Nice shave Paul. I like the scent of the Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve, but not everyone who visits me enjoys it...some folks have to sense of the classic men's scents. Thank you for posting and sharing. Take care.

Great shave Paul. Hahaha...I saw you use the 'Wilko' blue stick and I just had to walk off and have a shave with it! LOL Makes a crazy good lather and the scent is faint but I smell it and think Lavender...and then sniff again and think Creed Aventis (really faintly). I used a Rockwell 6C set with a 4 plate and had a lovely shave. I always like to see your Merkur 45 in a shave...one of my absolute favourites!

My Favourite from RazorRock is the "Baby-Smooth"...very efficient yet delightful to use and light. It always reminded me of the Merku 45 and then someone mentioned the design brief was to be much like the Merkur 45. Great little jigger when you can get one.

Hi Paul. I received a Omega 10077,. because my 10049 is really big. The 77 is almost a bit to small 😂 it works great and is, after breakin it in and soakin it, really soft. And i got cella soap. Nice slickness! And nice scent. Different from all i have. But nice. Ah yeah, and big pack (300ml) of Proraso green preshave. 😀 Great shave. I always enjoy it! Jens

The more I see and compare this Bakelite Mekur with my Black Bakelite(1950s) Russian/Soviet Razor; the more I am convinced the Mekur is the contemporary clone. I say this based on the curvature of the Head/Top Cap design. The dimensions of the razors is nearly identical and I guess the weight is probably the same. The reason I am going on about this is; I also have a White Bakelite Soviet Razor and the head is distinctly not curved and the feel of the shave(aggression-is noticeably more so)is not the same. Your commentary on the Mekur's feel and such is comparable to my Black Bakelite.....End of long winded babbling....
