Thank you for sharing diffrence for thouse 2 razors , many have problem with Merkur , i have MingShi ones and I was about to get Merkur but seems is not worth the price for Merkur . No one did this way to compare both of them ,well done . Thank you.

I have a Merkur 38c and a Edwin Jagger de89 . I love them both . But I would try the cheap Chinese one . Just to see what it is like . Thanks .

I have also been using the Edwin Jaegger, Mercure, old Gillette, feather for years but now after using the Future clone, I have stopped using any other razor. It is that good. Just remember to assemble it properly.

I use a Philips one blade to shave down the heavy growth . It is great .

Yes and it is great for triming a goatee . It will shave you down to a one day growth if you like that look. I do sometimes . But you can not get a close shave . It is not for that . The replacement head cost around $20 . Not cheap . I have had the same head 6 mouths but do not use it much .

It is really safe . You can't cut yourself . Like I said you do not get a close shave but it is not bad , and you can wet shave with it too . He could use good creams or soaps . I think it would be Good for him . It is well made . I like it .

The German made Merkur is much better quality than the Ming Shi, no comparison. The Alloys are different and Quality is second to none. That is what you pay for.
