Yes, I know. That's what I was saying in my comments. I've seen the Roy Clark comment before, and was particularly annoyed when the liner notes of the Skynyrd box referred to Roy Clark. One of Roy Nichols greatest recorded solos, and one of the Strangers' best performances.

ACTUALLY when Ronnie said "sounds like roy" he was referring to Roy Nichols- the Hag's right hand guitar man for years. either way, he was paying homage to masters of the guitar

Roy Nicholas is a respected picker from way back. I knew what Ronnie meant from the get go. Not sure but I figure the new guitar player Steve Gaines influenced doing that song. He could actually play that style. Gaines was a monster picker! Poor guy. In fact the whole LP is killer and features Steve’s picking a lot. He was already doing I know a Little before he joined Skynyrd. They covered or honored a lot of artists. More to honor them than that they needed a song like some other artists.
