I've been following Merle and Aria for a while now and I always felt a sense of joy that it seemed the two did not care about the fact that Merle was taller than Aria. I'm really glad that they were able to address the "height topic" in this video and it felt very empowering! Being a short guy myself, I used to be insecure about my own height. Especially when it came to dating because of the judgement and negativity that came along with being short in our society. However, it took a lot of persistence, life lessons, and experiences to become the confident short guy that I am today. I actually just started a KZbin Channel to empower other short guys to become confident too. It would be great if I could get feedback from all of you guys and girls on topics you'd like to see more of! At the end of the day, I just hope we can all love ourselves and each other no matter what we look like. Thank you Merle and Aria for all the positivity - I appreciate you guys!

I'm really self conscious about that even though it's nothing we both could have controlled and it gets worse whenever my wife wear heels. @@zihongezrali6053 as someone who is Latina and having an Asian husband, I have received so many comments on why I “chose” him. It’s like they don’t take our relationship seriously? Non Asian females w/ Asian males is not common, especially when the woman isn’t white. So maybe the discrimination other POC have with Asian men might be worse than if it is a white female. This usually stems from western beliefs that Asian men are not “desirable”, stemming from xenophobia. Asian women with non Asian men is more common because Asian women were seen as exotic and a fetish for men (especially since a lot of women were used as comfort women during past war). Regardless, at the end of the day none of it matters if our relationship is healthy, it’s just so bothersome when people around you don’t take you seriously.

Funny! My wife and I are the same racial combo as you two. I've never received *any* comments about us being interracial. My wife on the other hand got uninvited comments back when we first started dating like "Oh, I can never do that!", "what about his penis?", the best one was "has he ever taken you to his village?" You'd be surprised. While a majority of people are accepting, 20% of the country doesn't approve of interracial relationships and those people tend to make it difficult for interracial couples. I don't feel comfortable having my partner meet certain family members for this reason.

I always love questions like the end, about moving in together. I met my husband at a Waffle House while I was living in a van in the parking lot of it. I spent 16-20 hours of every day sitting in a corner booth, my only source of food being scraps or mess-ups, and the bathroom sink was my 'shower'. My husband came in, a regular, and we hit it off. 1.5 weeks later, we started dating. 1 week after that my circumstances worsened and he offered his spare futon for me to crash on "for a week". When I couldn't find anyone to watch my cats, he said "Bring them too, I love cats! I have one of my own!" We've now been together 10 years this year, and married for 5. His two teenage children took to me immediately, despite my relatively young age (21 at the start) and my husband and I have been living together full time as a partnership, couple, and best friends since then, despite a 17 year age gap. Our first grandchild was born this Spring, and honestly... We've never fought, we see most things eye to eye, and the few we don't, we usually turn into informal debates just to see how the other side sees things. If we can come to a middle ground view, we do. If we can't, we table it until later when we both have more evidence and go again. It's one of the most intellectually fulfilling relationships I have ever had, as well as physically and spiritually, and it's rare that anyone believes or understands that we met, dated, and moved in with each other in the timespan of LESS than a month. Hell, at the time we met, my mom thought he was my sugar daddy and pulled me aside saying the equivalent of 'You go girl, live that life to the FULLEST'... And my dad thought he was a cracked out meth head desperate to get laid. (Don't worry. Now, he often calls us just to talk to my husband, not his POOR LITTLE ONLY CHILD APPLE OF HIS EYE PRECIOUS DAUGHTER, ME. XD) I'm, of course, not saying everyone should... or even COULD... Move in together as quickly as we did. But, I do think it's important to know that every couple is going to work differently. Hell, some couples work best when they NEVER move in together. As long as you know yourself, and your partner, and you prioritize the connection between the two, I don't think living together means all that much ultimately. :D
