In the winter a great protein bomb is some miso soup. Miso has a ton of protein and add a couple blocks of tofu with some rehydrated shiitakes and some cut up nori strips, some sesame oil, soy sauce, and rice vinegar, and it’s a super easy way for some hot protein.
@kyracheera90075 ай бұрын
Miso is amazing! A lot of traditional miso soup uses fish broth so it’s not always vegan BUT it is possible to make it vegan! Especially if you’re buying straight up miso paste :)

I literally bought avocados and tofu before your upload just to make that salad. I also eat cereal like that almost every day. I try to keep up with my weightlifting routine and it feels great. Just one thing to keep in mind is that more than 30g in a meal are probably not gonna be absorbed efficiently so idk if it's true but I keep check.
@klaurvick45015 ай бұрын
Why not all of them!! 😃
@user-bv7mk8id5t5 ай бұрын
@@willeon23really!? Never heard of this. I’m gonna have to check with Dr. Mike (from renaissance science) on that one. That would mean all those weight lifters banking in on all that protein well over 100g a day isn’t absorbing per meal!? They are prob eating well over 30 g per meal. It would be nearly impossible to eat less than 30g of protein and make it to well over 100g by the end of the day I would think. But I will look into that. Best

Hey Merle great video just in case you didn't know (obvi you don't have to change your diet you eat pretty healthy and have a lot of whole foods which is great to see you are doing better then 90% of the population) that bananas are polyphenol inhibitors, so eating them with a food with polyphenols (like berries) reduces your bodies absorption of them. Thus its recommended to space your bananas some hours later or before you eat something high in polyphenols.

Just one quick recommendation: do not rehydrate tvp with water. I know it says to do so on the package but it's way better if you use a broth, or, to save time, if you let it absorb the water that the vegetables in the dish will naturally release during cooking, it will make it more flavourful than plain water 😊

I've read some things lately about basically the bioavailability or absorption (I know very little about this) of protein, e.g. that plant proteins tend to be less "available" so you think you're getting 50 grams of protein from, say, a tofu recipe, but you're really absorbing like 30 grams. Tofu is almost essential on a vegan diet and not only for its protein but mainly for its calcium content. I find calcium (without a ton of oxalates) a lot harder to get on a vegan diet than protein which is abundant in many plants. And calcium is very important because once you lose bone there is no getting it back after аgе around 20 to 30 . (which is me) It is not like muscle which can be build back with excercise. And who likes osteoporosis/ osteopenia.. Surely no one.
@jumano5 ай бұрын
sure tofu, tempeh and tvp (usually from soy) are helpful and a complete protein but there's plenty of vegans that can't do soy and want to be gluten free and even they're not on a rock and grass diet. So many things to eat! Literally hundreds of options
