@@piper8877 well, tbh Merlin didn't have much of a character development over 5 seasons. Neither did Gaius but that's not the point. All the other major characters change a lot.

@@granville7 i agree with you about Gaius. But Merlin did have enough character development. He went from a happy, light-hearted, spontaneous boy to a more grown up young man, with sense of duty. On the first season he thought the act of murder to be unbearable but that changed a lot thoughout the series. He eventually became colder, stronger, with much less emotion, quite like a machine that just did what it has to do. Even his posture, way of talking and looking have changed. He came to be proud about his powers and fully understand his destiny and his important part. And he came to understand that he can't save everyone and that friends can turn into enemies too. But he's much less happy as he lost so many loved ones and felt like things are coming to an end I think that Merlin and Morgana had better character development than the rest tbh

One of the ones where Arthur is being pushed into an arranged marriage. I think in Season 2 there's an episode where the princess in question was possessed by something? that made her clumsy/stinky/awkward/etc. IIRC Merlin was teasing Arthur about it in this scene.

All the mistakes made in the perfect "Merlin" series: 1. that the dragon killed innocent people. 2 .Arthur killed a man -that king. 3 .that gwen cheated on Arthur. 4. Merlin advised Arthur to refuse the witches of the desair and arthur did not accept the old religious belief. This is how it kept mordred alive. 5. Arthur executed the Druid girl and caused Mordred to turn against him. 6 .that the stable worker was killed only because of Gwen. 7 .that Arthur is killed! he should have lived and go back to the palace to rule with Gwen and continue to enjoy Merlin as a servant and to enjoy Merlin's magic. 8.that in general magic wasn't accepted in Arthur's time and that it should be a distinction between good sorcerers and evil sorcerers and magic being used for good or evil. 9.also that in the past Arthur attacked a druid camp with his soldiers.
