I sort of agree. I wish we could have seen some of the Golden Age that the dragon always spoke of, and that the druids prophesied about. But I at least understand why it ended the way it did. There are people today who believe that in England's time of need (World War 2 *cough cough*), King Arthur would rise again. It's a real, true legend, not a fictional story from a tv show based off of Arthurian tales. So, maybe, in a way, we're still waiting for that Golden Age.

Ahh. I just got to the end of Merlin, and that last shot of him walking through modern times irritated me like nothing else. Like Merlin's done nothing but pine after Arthur all these years... I'd have much preferred if they just left that scene out, and let us think maybe the "Golden Age" would come a little later (else kinda leaving space for a continuation of the series, even though they'd decided they wouldn't do any). Also, I'm quite annoyed they didn't do the magic reveal a lot earlier, like, halfway through season 5 at least. Would've been nice to have them together like that. But I am glad they did have some scenes talking about things in the past and Merlin telling him how it was him - few other shows with this kind of reveal, and then they don't talk about it like that at all - Dexter did that, even though the secret was revealed with 2 seasons still left. (Which is hilarious to me, since Colin's actually wearing a Dexter lanyard.)
