Merlin GOLDEN AGE AU Part 1 - You have magic (for SecretHeart20 and fireicewriter42)

Dedicated to SecretHeart20 because she was one of the first who inspired my editing skill. I have admired her voiceover Merlin stories since 2009. Now I feel that I have improved to the point that I can make my Merlin Ending approaching her level. Thank you so much for your inspiration!!
- The Sidhe part is partly inspired by the amazing fanfiction "Vision of Happiness" by fireicewriter42: www.fanfiction.net/s/12219352...
- The part of Gwen and Arthur talking is inprired by this video by TheiLame: • HOW MERLIN SHOULD HAVE...
PLOT:
At the shores of Avalon Merlin gets Arthur in the boat and drags him before the Sidhe King. He is not willing to help a Pendragon, but Emrys forces him to restore the balance and the Sidhe give Merlin a spell to heal arthur and leave with a grin.
Anxiously Merlin waits and suddenly arthur starts to breath. He is confused to be on the isle and Merlin tells him he saved Arthur, which he begrudgingly thanks him for. Merlin decides to let Arthur know the whole truth and leads him in the forest.
Arthur is impatient and wants to get back to Gwen and Camelot, but Merlin convinces him. They go to the Crystal Cave and Merlin shows arthur visions of what he did for Camelot in the past. Arthur feels conflicted and regrets how he treated Merlin.
When they camp around a fire Arthur asks Merlin what it is like and Merlin opens up about his loneliness. Arthur thanks Merlin for saving his life, but he is still unsure how to treat Merlin when they get back. He goes to sleep and Merlin watches him anxiously.
Back at Camelot Gwen is overjoyed to see him. Arthur tells her that Merlin is a sorcerer and is a bit offended to hear that she knew it already (although only for a day).
Gwen knows Merlin is loyal to them and tells arthur to trust his instincts. There's a knock at the door and Merlin appears.
Nervously the sorcerer begs for arthur's mercy, but Arthur quickly reassures him. In his own way he tells him that he will be rewarded for saving his life. (the knighthood is actually the Court Sorcerer, which is the same rank and Arthur used knighthood as a substitute because there had been no Court Sorcerer before. They would come up with the position a few days later.)
The next day the Council and the Round Table are called for a meeting (Gwaine and Elyan survived) and Arthur talks about what sorcery has done to Camelot. Gwen thinks of her enchantment when he talks about Morgana.
But then he surprises everyone by pointing out that Merlin is a sorcerer and has done no harm. Magic is accepted again.

the knighthood part is from way back when I wathed the first season in 2009. When arthur said he had a knighthood to bestow I actually thought he meant Merlin and was dissappointed when he continued with "and none to polish my armour".

The funny part I when I first started the Merlin series, I came across this video and thought it actually happened that Merlin revealed everything that Arthur missed. But I quickly left the video thinking it was a spoiler, and man did I wish I read the title and description. I actually just finished the last episode thinking I SWEAR THERE WAS A PART WHERE THERE IN THE CRYSTAL COVE AND MERLIN SHOWS EVERYTHING and that was the scene I was looking forward to the most! and now I realize that didn't actually happen. Man...I was so convinced and kinda bummed that didn't actually happen..it would've been so perfect for the actual show. The editing was so on point thought, I was so convinced.

Camelot836 thankyousomuch! I cant lie, I was a little at first but I kept rewatching this video, and it made my day! Helped numb the feels a little... I dont think I'll get over the ending of Merlin anytime soon either 😂 The funny thing is I actually just finished the series today. I was dreading the day I would come face to face with the last episode every Merlin fan had warned me about. And yet here I am. Officially its over. I wish I could just erase my memories, and watch the show again going through the rollercoasters and emotions, laughing and crying all at the same time. Though the inevitable emptiness lingers, your video gives me the hope haha, and makes me feel way better. 😆😁Keep doing what your doing, you have a talent! I think Im going to rewatch the series again and then ditch the last episode and watch this instead😂😂😂

I am a bit disappointed as well, that the series doesn't have nearly as much views as the less popular of my httyd videos with less voiceover work, but I guess that is just because Merlin isn't as popular anymore because the premiere has been a few years in the past. And maybe alsoo because I am wider known in HTTYD fandoms, even through Merlin was the first fandom I edited with. Exile (Arwen video) was my first youtube video about 3 years ago. And I used to have a page with Merlin picture manips with Merlin as the Court Sorcerer on Heart of Camelot when it was still active.

Merlin had a beautiful love story; complicated by Royal duties and greed and magical power's; there should be a season 6 for Arthur and Gwen to finally have a life together and have kids; in the 21century reincarnated Arthur and Gwen; their love so powerful that the pulled from past 6 centuries United them together once more. Only this time they are faced with today's social and political problems. Merlin being the greatest Warlock ever hasn't age one bit over time; once again he has befriended the reincarnated Arthur and Gwen once more. Please bring back this beautiful and magical love story with the same cast members.

Wooow i really liked the reveal :O, and at the beginning how Merlin shows Arthur everything that has happened and what Arthur didnt see before. This is very well put together, i like the colors of the scenes to make it fit! And i wish i had notice a scene where Qwen was a queen and they stood by the window just like when she was a maid :) Awesome video! Love the scenes and audio! Maybe one thing, the last sentence, in my video i changed sorcery with magic, because to me sorcery sounds a bit negative word. Other than that, amazing job :) !

You were a great inspiration. :D I have seen a similiar AU scene of Merlin and Arthur in the Cristal Cave years ago, but I cannot remember which video it was, otherwise I would have given credit. The hardest part was organizing and finding the voiceovers. Right now I am working on part 2, Merlin's ceremony to become the Court Sorcerer with Khadgars' outfit from Warcraft. Part 3 will be about Merlin teaching Arthur and Gwen's daughter magic, inspired by the amazing fanfiction "VIsion of Happiness". Interesting choice for thee last sentence. How did you put the "magic will reign" quote together? From which episodes?

Hi! I am so sorry for not replying for a year. I didn't have youtube notifications on. I simply found an episode where Arthur used word magic (there's loads of them so i don't know which episode i used, but Arthur says magic a lot anyways) and used the known scene where Arthur and Merlin were sitting by the fireplace and Arthur asked him if "sorcery will reign once more in Camelot, is that what you want?" and just changed the word sorcery with magic by editing the audio. Simple as that :) By the way, i am currently rewatching Merlin, so perhaps if you have any requests of any sentences they might have said, you can perhaps ask me, maybe for a short while i will remember where to find anything :) And once more, your video is really beautiful. I really like it!

It would've ended this way if they director's didn't want to stick to canon. Even though the original way is sad, it'd always be nice to have this as a final grand ending of Arthur and Merlin's story. Even though Gwaine was already dead seeing as how they showed him.

when watching the series, it even seemed that...in this series, the king fought to destroy the magic of the druid, and the enemies of the sorcerers and witches surrounded his son and occupied the castle. Even in the series, it seemed that perhaps Camelot was Camulodunum and the ancient Romans lived there and fought against the magic of the druids, but magic does not exist, and the druids existed and the Romans fought to destroy the magic of the druids. Druids made great human sacrifices, ate human flesh, used narcotic mushrooms, and forbade writing. Guinevere, Morgana, Merlin, Mordred are druids and made a sacrifice Arthur killed and said they were sent to Avalon. It’s just that the ancient Druids were not interested in the name of the ruler of the Roman Camulodunum and they called them whatever they wanted
