Mermaid Nail Tutorial (Konad Stamping with Sponge Gradient)

PLATE IS SOLD OUT! I have seen nail vinyls in the past that have this same pattern: store.whatsupna... and www.hexnaildesi... I've used nail vinyls from both sellers and have had no problems. Just paint the nail dark blue first.. then apply nail vinyl... then sponge on the gradient. Hope that is an ok workaround!

I try to let the polish dry between each layer before I move onto the next layer. Also, if you're using stamping, a lot of clear coats will smear the stamp. Seche Vite is the only topcoat that I've used that will not smear your stamping work.

I don't think I did. But, a fast drying topcoat DOES help a lot when the particular base color you're using doesn't dry fast enough. If you try and it smudges, then yes a fast drying topcoat like Seche Vite should solve it :)

Usually when that happens, I'm waiting too long between scraping the excess polish off and then stamping it with the stamper. Does it dry too quickly before you pick it up? We'll get to the bottom of this ;D

It's not very expensive :) Please see my Konad Basics video for details if you haven't seen it already :D BTW the stamping materials you need cost $4.37 for the stamper/scraper and $3.99 for the mermaid plate :) I used regular non-stamping polish for the print. The cost is not too bad since you can reuse them forever!

If you put tape around your nails it stops the polish from going onto the skin around your nail :) and this nail art was so pretty

Hi! :] I'd also like to mention one more thing. I know I can't please everyone, but I do take your feedback seriously because I know it will help me in my video development. But it makes me sad when people make blanket generalizations like "no one has these stamps so QUIT using them!" I make a point to post links on where to buy the exact plates. If you cannot buy them then hopefully you can DIY freehanded or take bits and pieces of ideas & make them your own. I hope you can understand :)

For me it doesn't take that long... You have to make sure that you put on thin coats and let dry between coats as much as possible. Also, applying nail polish using a sponge will apply thin coats automatically.

I was having the same trouble with my stamping kit. Not any polish is ok, it has to be stamping polish, special stuff. lol Some other polishes may work, but most won't. Also make sure you removed the almost invisible piece of plastic film that covers the plate when you first get it.
