Wow...what a process to watch. Pre-gesso mermaid was lovely...then I went woah, whatcha doing, don't you like it? Then she became even more beautiful. Thank you for this mermaid...now to catch up on the others.

I just love hearing all about your dancing jobs and the behind the scenes stories. We just got home from a holiday in Japan, and while we were at Tokyo Disneyland we got to see the new special Donald Duck parade. It was so good!...and while I was sitting there with my alien mochi watching the dancers I was thinking of you and how much you would have loved it. I was wondering about the secret rehearsals, if the dancers had any injuries, and if they had another job to race to. hahaha! I really noticed how much energy they seemed to get from the crowd. Thanks for everything James!

Happy Mermay James, so excited 🎉. My husband (from Melbourne) also heals random home sick attacks with Aussie deliciousness like sausage rolls and pies which he would even travel all over town for. 😂 Anyhow, you said we could pop our questions in the commies and I was wondering whether you ended up watching the rest of the 🍏TV show the New Look? Living far from family is difficult. I live alone in Canada. I too have those moments when I'll do something from home; music, scents that reminds me of home (with essential oils), movies, series... name it. Just to feel a little closer ✨️ 😊

Hi James! I have a daily journal that is Tomoe River paper and I hate white pages so I watercolor background like 20 pages at a time. Then I do a sketch/watercolor piece a day I have to use the background color or ignore it which sometimes I do but I find it has made me a better artist because I am using a paper that is not easy to use watercolor with a background color so when I go to my watercolor sketchbook with nice paper it is so easy. So I guess I make it difficult and it turns out good. I walked away from my art because I was too critical of myself now I just have fun. I love your videos I listen while I am sketching! Love and Light to you!

Hi James, I held my breath when you gessoed over the mermaid lol I thought it was good! You are very brave lol. Also Beetroot has to be on an Australian Salad very Aussie for sure! Also in short supply here atm not sure why? I am saving my tin of beetroot atm lol. Taste of Australia such a good idea to make you feel better, I totally get that. I am inspired to try some mermaids now. Thanks for sharing James. Your new mermaid looks amazing too! Neenish tarts are my fav btw and custard tart comes second.

I really liked the pen and ink beginning. When you put the whitewash on, I thought OMG!! But I do like the finished art. Americans have bred a lot of flavor out of veg in an effort to brede shippable items.

11:50 A lot of times, I want to *have done* something. Not that I want to actually do it. I am hoping to get somewhere with Mermay because I haven't felt like doing *anything* lately.

I can relate to that feeling....Be compassionate to yourself and do little creative things even if they are small ones like pasting some mermaid stickers on your planner :)
