Thanks for your video, very helpful. You asked what the Do Not Disturb switch entity does. It simply turns on/off the LED light to reduce light interference in the switch location.

Thanks, I should have said in the video that I'm planning a "localisation" video where I go through and convert all cloud-based integrations to local (as everyone loves them :)), so what out for that video when released. :)

Thanks for the review! Does the energy consumption monitor allow you to add costs inline with your time of day tarriffs?
@smart_home_australia2 ай бұрын
Sure does, although I believe this is a new feature. DEVICE > SETTINGS > ELECTRICITY BILL CALCULATION, toggle on, enter your $/KWh and currency it will calculate the usage costs.

Thanks for the review. Are there any Zigbee smart plugs for the Australian market that are ZHA compatible?
@smart_home_australiaАй бұрын
Great question, currently I have only tested WiFi smart sockets, but check out this link, s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DEdEQl9, there are a few listed that should meet your needs. If they list as Zigbee compatible they should be fine with ZHA. I'd look for sockets that have AS/NZS3820 certification if you want to be sure of electrical compliancy.

Can you not integrate this in HomeKit, then remove it then add it to HA using the HomeKit integration? Not sure if this way allows local integration
@smart_home_australia4 ай бұрын
Remember that integrating using HomeKit device allows control of HomeKit devices in HA but doesn’t ’bring them in’. Home Kit integration is home kit bridge and this “publishes” devices to home kit for control.

@@smart_home_australia apologies, I meant HomeKit controller, just because it’s generally local

You can use the Meross LAN from HACs for local control

@@michaelthompson657 As far as I remember i had no issues, except I had two instances running (one LAN and the other integration) which caused some confusion but I just removed the non LAN one. I just had a quick read of the github page and they suggest turning the plug off for 10s and then powering back on. I personally only get these now, still have a couple of sonoff ones kicking around, as they are compacted enough, power monitor and can be locally controlled and they tend to be on offer a lot on amazon, well for the UK.
