Well I'm based in Europe (Spain) and both NSPANEL PRO and NSPANEL PRO 120 work no problem here (230v). HOWEVER I just watched this video and seeing the commend abou the lo res screen on the NSPanel Pro, I tried the NSPanel Pro 120 with Home Assistant - I had to find SOME use for the panel as it has no idea where either my nearest village or town are for weather purposes... I figured the web page Home Assistant might be worthwhile, afet all, Home Assistant works just fine on my Samsung Android phone - sadly, no. Technically it works but is so slow as to be unusable. I'll give this a miss. If the NSPanel Pro 120 and NSPanel Pro were Tasmota compatible, I'd convert both of them. I have an original NSPANEL in my bedroom which is running Tasmota, reading my own sensors and with 2 buttons, controlling timesd bedside chargers and lights - much more useful IMHO..

I have had no luck in finding an answer in the last 3 months, but since you just uploaded about it, might as well ask directly... Tracks, artists, albums, stations, they all load from all providers. Set up speakers and everything. NOTHING PLAYS! No matter what I choose, it loads for a few seconds and then stops, without ever starting. On playlists, it shuffles untill the last track, but again, no music! Any helpful ideas?

I love SwitchBot products and they are moving in the right direction, but some of their strategies are not as open as I'd like. But they will get there and expose the API's in time. I mean look at Reolink, they were a closed ecosystem once and now they embrace integration (within engineering limitations). So I am sure the same will be for SwitchBot shortly.

I have Home Assistant at home and at the cabin. I have a Nabu Casa account for my home HA, but I would like to avoid paying for a Nabu Casa account for the one at the cabin. I found a custom component in HACS called Remote Home-Assistant. Can I use Tailscale to connect them together? Maybe a video?

The question is why two HA instances. Just have one to control both locations. The control the secondary with SMLight SLZB-06 as if it your HA was actually there. Check out my video on this adaptor and specially the remote VPN feature. It’s super well documented and easy to Implement.

Got you, I thought you might just have Zigbee devices. Of course you could implement a wide-area mesh network (Primary node at home and satellite node at the cabin), but the latency would be a killer I suspect, and that assumes your cabin has WiFi. Either way a nice little project. :)

When you were testing in safari, were you in a private browser window? This routes traffic via the apple proxy, so it wouldn’t route via tailscale. The other thing to watch out for is if you have a config installed for DOH (dns over https) via cloudflare or similar. This will cause resolution issues with tail scale.

Hmmm... OK afew things to check. - Make sure your Zigbee adapter's firmware is up-to-date and compatible with Zigbee2MQTT. - Double check your port, SETTINGS > SYSTEM > HARDWARE > ALL HARDWARE - Which to the relative USB address as oppsoed to the absolute - If using VM make sure the USB is getting passed through correctly - Try using a different USB port that's running USB 2.0 only If all that fails, then retry factory resetting the ZBDongle, upgrade to latest firmware and retry. Remember that Sonoff support is really good, so raise a ticket and see if they can also assist.

If the web based flasher won’t connect and allow the firmware upgrade then you can always do it the direct (link sonoff.tech/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/SONOFF-Zigbee-3.0-USB-dongle-plus-firmware-flashing-.pdf) but you will need to dismantle the device to press the boot button. More fiddly, but super easy to do.

The LG TV Remote App for Android allows you to use your smartphone as a keyboard. This app provides features like a virtual keyboard and mouse pointer, enabling easier text entry and navigation on your LG Smart TV. To set it up, both your smartphone and LG TV need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Once connected, you can select your TV from the app to start using its keyboard feature. Also many LG TVs support Bluetooth keyboards. You can connect compatible Bluetooth keyboards directly to the TV, allowing for easier typing than using the remote control. Make sure your TV model supports Bluetooth connectivity, as not all models do

Thanks for the great video! I am new to HA & MA, and a little confused about the bluetooth speaker part. Right now, I can only see one built-in Bluetooth device on the Devices & services pane (Raspberry Pi5, bluez 5.66, home assistant supervised 2024.9.1). None of any other Bluetooth device listed there (but can see a connected/trusted device on debian os by bluetoothctl). Seems like I need to add my speaker into the Devices & services first, then MA can use it. Because I only have a classic bluetooth speaker at hand, I am not sure what to do next. For the google, I found some methods such as Pulseaudio, a new USB adapter, esphome, or just a new bluetooth speaker directly supported by HA. Could you give me some pointers on how to do this? Really thanks!

For Bluetooth speakers its a little more complex than a IP based speak with an integration or DLNA. Also a little too in-depth to go into in a comment. I'd recommend reading the following post (Ref: github.com/adrgumula/HomeAssitantBluetoothSpeaker) but if your new to HA this might be a little complex. I'll put up a post on the community and see if this is something that people need and create a video if popular.

Interesting, I did a bit of research on this, seems like WebRTC can work on mobile devices, but there are some important considerations. I'm not familiar with the Hiseeu NVR but if the rtsp stream is not working there I would suggest that it could be one of the following: - Configuration issue with the video input resolution - Network issue - Firewall related issue - Incompatible RTSP stream (ie. RTSP over SSL) - Manufacturer locked camera feeds I'd suggest reading through this article for more information (ref: www.reddit.com/r/ispyconnect/comments/zsric6/hiseeu_k8208w_stream_to_agent/)

7:37 What kind of information does the POWER_ON value starting with JgCk contain? Can you tell me the result of the decoding?

Sorry Jjang, I don’t know that. You might need to reach out to Broadlink for those details.

lol. Shhhh yep. Maybe they’ll bring to Android. But as that’s an open ecosystem I’m always concerned about hackers and after all this location services and there are many out there that could abuse this. At least Apple have put in place measures to prevent these devices been used for illegal purposes.

Music assistant has been a PITA to upgrade from beta. Now it's an official add on, is it possible to do another video? For example I just can't seem to call it as a "service" (now action). thanks

@@smart_home_australia Great, because it continues to remain buggy, unreliable and difficult. I've been using Sonos for years. Now I have HA and this is also becoming problematic (the HA Sonos integration has also been forever buggy) - I also tried Heos in frustration (this is better). It would be great to have a reliable music server option running within HA, to choose whatever player I like > I look forward to the (updated) review 😊

Sounds like you should be doing the review. I’m a casual MA user in HA, I’m more Jellyfin and Plex orientated.

Would it be possible to install go2rtc addon while I've got frigate installed? (frigate includes go2rtc) I would like to test the addon speed without running frigate.

Yes, but not recommended. You can install a separate instance of go2rtc alongside Frigate, but it's generally not necessary or recommended since Frigate already includes and configures go2rtc internally. You might like to consider these points: 1)Frigate's built-in go2rtc: Frigate comes with go2rtc integrated and pre-configured to work seamlessly with its features. This built-in version is specifically tailored to Frigate's requirements. 2) Custom configuration: Frigate explicitly configures its internal go2rtc instance to behave in a way that it requires and expects. Simply pointing to an external go2rtc IP/port would not work as intended. 3) Functionality limitations: If you attempt to use an external go2rtc instance with Frigate, certain features may not function correctly. For example, the MSE or WebRTC live view within Frigate's interface would not be available. 4) Potential conflicts: Running two instances of go2rtc (one internal to Frigate and one external) could potentially lead to conflicts or unexpected behavior, especially if they're configured to use the same resources or ports. Hopefully that helps you out. Let us know how you go.

@@smart_home_australia Thanks for the reply. I just want to turn off frigate and still be able to use go2rtc if that possible..

Question. This works fine for IR but I’ve found that learning RF remotes is not as easy. The system needs to scan all the RF frequencies listening for a signal and it times out before it finds it. I know the RF frequency but there is no way to define that in HA. Any advice on getting RF remotes into HA?

I've heard this before (ref: github.com/lprhodes/homebridge-broadlink-rm/issues/514) and I never heard of the solution. I have mine controlling some ceiling fans and they scanned first time and work great, even at range! Sorry I can't be more help.
