How To Do it So each time u tell Alexa to open garage she requires password? is there way to bypass password option? I am assuming closing command doesn’t require any password right?

garage door opener. And when I make a routine to close the garage door (shows as a lock in devices on Alexa app) I keep getting that error. Can’t figure out a way around it. To make the routine. Please help.

Followed instructions provided by meross and here but can't get the opener to work. i have a Chamberlain B550. I here a clicking sound but the door will not open or close. it know I am connected to the correct terminals. Any suggestions?

Dave Davidson try jumper out the points you are wiring to. Make sure it’s the trigger points that are connected to your garage button. Once you jumper your garage door should open. If it does then check your wire from the controller to the unit

Please help! My garage door opener has the same 4 ports in the back as yours and says it's compatible with the app (Chamberlain c205) When I put the leads in and tell it to open, I get the error code that the wires for the door control are shorted. How can I get this to work?!

Disconnect the control wire (not power wire) and then try to operate and see if your device makes a clicking sound. This will confirm its working good and it’s something in your door opener.

@@HowToDoitright thanks for the response! I did and it is clicking but when I had it connected it was connected properly to the opener unit where the wires go to my wall button. I don't understand what could be the problem. Like I said, I'm getting the error code "The wires for the door control are shorted or the door control is faulty. Inspect door control wires at all staple and connection points, replace wire or correct as needed." When I unplug them the wall button to open works fine.

I would suggest remove the wires that goes to the garage button and only connect the ones on device and see. If that don’t work than i would suggest use new wires and check. Also if you have an ohm meter I would suggest check the impedance on the two contacts on your device where the control wire goes. Check impedance which imitating garage door open and closed from app. And see what the impedance is. One should say open circuit (OL) or zero and other should read low impedance when you trigger but than should open the contact as it’s a pulse contact and shouldn’t be fully closed.
