I'm personally fond of the theory that Louis Arnote is the father. It'd be a funny twist on his warning not to overstay your welcome if the man apparently got so hooked on Elbaph he's had a child with a giant... His account of Little Garden could only be within the last 100 years while Dorry and Brogy were fighting, so the timeline is certainly feasible. But whoever it ends up being, much like Merphy, I'm sure Oda cannot disappoint us.

I think it's more like.. that's how they're attempting to raise the new generation. The impression I get is the older generation ARE warriors, and they're really trying to figure out how to pass on a peaceful ideology and what that looks like and how to teach it to the upcoming generation.

I think so as well. This pacifism seems to be a very new thing on Elbaph. For giants a generation takes about 75 to a 100 years from what I recall. So even if this change in policy has been going on for some 40 years or so it would still only be the children who are mainly affected. Besides I still think this whole pacifism agenda will be revealed as a ploy by the WG to neutralize the war capability of the giants, because how can kids not want to be pirates in One Piece? That's just plain wrong. No, evil I dare say.😛

The elbaf children are non violent because they are being raised to be more peaceful but older generations like dorry and broggy are still traditional giants. Its possible that hairjudin and his crew are the last generation of warriors on elbaf.

Around 10:21 you mention that the more "able-bodied" giants have only known peace, but I don't think that's the case, they say king Harald was the one to implement these peaceful giant ideals, but Hajrudin's generation itself has been around for a while, Ripley claims to be part of the last generation of warriors, and using the Big Mom flashback as a basis, Hajrudin himself was already 18 by then (around 6 in human years)

i think the introduction of the grow-grow fruit is gonna be a lot more important than we expect. in its current state with Biblo it can’t expand organic matter. but perhaps a previous user was able to awaken the fruit which could allow use on organic matter. this could be the origin of why everything on elbaph is so large.

ik the patreon has probably brought this up but the name for bibelot the owl is probably supposed to be part in reference to the spanish/latin word bibliot(h)eca meaning library and part an ironic play on the word bibelot: a small decorative ornament or trinket like a snuffbox or an ostrich feather fan Also in regards to Louis Arnout: personally I don't think it can be him because she describes the father as a former pirate. Louis Arnout was described as an adventurer and author (similar to Noland (though instead of being an authour he was a botanist)). If I recall correctly Noland was never considered a pirate so I can only assume Arnout wouldn't have been, also if he was I assume no one would buy his books.

I think the girl with "Shanks" look-a-like has the Mummy-mummy fruit. Because she has bandages and she looks like a mommy. Ok jk.😅 I think her powers is to control bondages and what ever she wraps her bandages to becomes mummified/deteriorating. If I had to guess where the themes of violence / warrior culture are going in this arc, I would also say that I think their pacifism is going to be challenged by these incoming threats! the younger elbaph generation may find that there is such a thing as necessary violence / have to rekindle some of those warrior traditions. I have a feeling that the world government may be weaponizing this pacifism as a means of control over elbaph. If we think about mother carmel, (who was a government agent) she was trying to impose the same thing, that now seems to have taken a cultural hold through king harald (who I'm guessing was a bit of a puppet in this regard). people of elbaph may find that pacifism (that is actually enforced in this case) is sometimes a manipulative means of enabling cycles/structures of oppression/harm by disabling self-defense and dissent. Yes it's good to be good to each other ! but what if the "good" is simply supporting more bad to happen, and what if violence/self-defense/being forceful isn't categorically wrong, when it's used to confront harmful cycles, like Luffy uses it ! I think we may also find that warrior culture didn't happen in a vacuum, and set up good boundaries that kept elbaph safe. now that safety might be threatened because the origin of those cultural ways may not be widely accepted ?... okay thank you :)

I think Colons size is making some people read too much into Luffys punch. If he was a normal sized kid he would of caught a hard punch on the head to calm him down (as the trope goes), but because he is a highly durable giant child, Luffy made his hand giant sized to hit him. Some people are treating it like he wanted to split the kid in two haha

We know that found family is a prevalent theme in One Piece, so it wouldn't be a surprise if the human was actually his step-father. Like how Kuma is to Bonney. Huh. The "inorganic matter" restriction on the Grow-Grow Fruit really takes me back. For people not into superheroes, it's the exact same restriction Gambit of the X-Men has when charging things with boom-boom energy. And it makes the exact same amount of sense, because books, whether from paper (wood- OR fabric- based), papyrus or parchment, are about as "inorganic" as playing cards are. Usopp's admiration of the giants has more to do with their convictions and the strength they have to follow through with them. If say, the giants were confronted with a threat and immediately surrendered, then Usopp would be more disillusioned with them.

While it’s cool that the Owl is the protector of the library, I kind of wish it were some technology other than a Devil Fruit. I guess I expected something different, so a small part of me is tired of it _always_ being a Devil Fruit. We are in the land of giants, so technology to temporarily make someone giant makes sense. I think one of the things Oda is going to tackle in this arc is being too pacifist. Because you can be so peaceful, you can become complacent, and it feels like Elbph has swung too far in the other direction. Of all the new outfits for the elder Straw Hats, I think I like Jinbe’s the best. I wonder who Ripley’s husband is. I mean, it should’ve been me, but it could be that silhouette we saw on the shore that everyone thinks is Shiki or Gaban. I’m glad to see Oda use the classic arrow (sword) through the head gag.

Maybe the point for Usopp is for him to find out that he has been a great warrior all along with his “story.” It’s more about recognizing his own strengths and utilizing things that only he can do rather than trying to be something he idealizes - like the Giant culture. He’s the artist of the crew. The sunstone seems like a perfect tool for him to utilize. We’ve also seen him utilize drawing before, in Dressrosa when he used Kanjuro’s drawing in his attack on Sugar (foreshadowing?). I also want to try to explain Luffy punching Colon with Gear 3. He is an Emperor now, maybe he sees it has a responsibility, like you can’t attack an Emperor. He clearly values that he is an Emperor. We’ve seen the other Emperors act similarly when attacked. It’s almost like a challenge of strength to attack an Emperor. By the way, Colon is a Buccaneer, like Kuma (because they are human-giant hybrids). It’ll be interesting to see if there are more or to see what the Buccaneer’s ability is that Kuma has. It’s also interesting that Bilbo is kind of like Zunesha in that he has been doing this job for as long as Zunesha without question. Definitely think he is a big piece here on Elbaf.
