This is the year the Tonys will award Groffsauce his well deserved flowers. This version made this show a hit bc Maria chose the correct actors to play their roles. Frank is a flawed and pompous man, yet Jonathan adds vulnerability to Frank. And that vulnerability also made Frank likeable. If you don’t feel for Frank, then you won’t understand why it’s a tragedy of the friendship demise. Bravo to everyone in this company.

The casting is so brilliant because all three of these actors are believable as 20 year olds AND 40 year olds. Their ability to shift energy is amazing.

Really great interview, especially for anyone interested in the process of acting and directing! I saw the show in NYC in February, and it deserves all its Tony award nominations and more.

Please tell me that someone filmed this production for all of us who cannot get to NYC. Listening to Maria makes me even more rabid to see it, and I'll be hoping even more after Groff gets his Tony. I want to see this show!
