Totally get it ! From a large family myself I often helped my grandma clean and cook for gatherings of up to 100 if friends n shirttail relatives were present ! Only two girls old enough to be trusted with real dishes etc You would usually find me in the kitchen washing up or on the back porch having a cool off in FL Christmas weather . I was always the observer and needed my space My youngest is the same I do miss all the elders and others long gone though I have many great memories ! Peace and joy to you in the relative quiet of your home ❤️🎄🙏

What a wonderful time with family, even though it can get overwhelming. When my parents were alive, we used to get together with my four stepbrothers, one stepsister, their spouses, and my 11 nieces and nephews. I have so many fabulous memories that keep me going now that I spend the holidays alone. Merry Christmas to you, Rocky and Nala, Prepper Princess.

Merry Christmas! I know how you feel. I've lived alone with a couple pets since 2007. I took my parents to TX one year where my sister lives and it was quite chaotic with all the adult children and their kids. Though it nice to see everyone, it was a relief to go home. In 2019, I took my mom (my dad passed in 2018) to LA to see my daughter (her fave), her hubby and my one grandaughter, who was 13 at the time. That was WAY different and quite relaxing. My mom passed this last July, so it's just me here in TN. I'm doing absolutely nothing today! LOL

Overwhelmed is my situation every day as an HSP. My husband lives for TV… It’s on from morning till night and he’s loud. I just love quiet and I get easily overwhelmed with sound. Common on, Its once a year. They will grow up, enjoy the time you have among the young ones. Its sometimes get difficult but sometimes its better to sit with them and ask them their views. No matter how childish they may sound. But I agree the dog barking...arghhhh
