Were they married when Mary was found with child? They didn't sleep together so I'm assuming they were not yet married. Gabriel told Joseph to take her as his wife that it was by the holy Spirit. So he would not need to get a divorce? Sorry just a little confused.

No problem Frank. I actually answered your question, but maybe you missed me saying it. I stated that when a woman was "espoused" or "betrothed" to a man in that day, the Jewish culture considered them as good as married, other than the fact they had not yet had sexual relations.
