Hi there, enjoyed your video very much. Thanks for sharing and a really good flight. Ive been flying model planes for 33 years now and ive always thought about getting a jet as ive never had one. The thing that put me off was the speed as im more into scale flying and didn't think my 56 year old eyes could keep up. But I was so impressed by the slow speed of the Avanti that its made me think about getting one. I also love the sound of this machine. Kind regards, Aidan.

Mr. Wesley, now you got my juices going. I've been looking at moving up from my current E-flight Viper 70mm (which I love) to its bigger brother, the 90MM which are both 12-blade EDF. I have to say, after looking at this video, the Avanti 80MM 9-blade EDF (wing geometry look similar to the E-flight Habu) is looking very nice, fun and very stable too. Other than installing a good receiver, would you recommend this Avanti 80MM over the Viper 90MM, or even maybe over the FMS FUTURA Tomahawk 80MM?

Once you can fly with safe, my advice is get off of it as quickly as you can. The longer you wait, the worse your anxiety gets. I flew plane after plane the simulator with 10-15 mph crosswinds for a week before i could make myself go fly without the gyro. Discovered i was worried for nothing. Unless you want to go fly in 15 mph plus winds, you don't need one. Have seen alot of pilots learn to fly a safe plane and never be confident enough to fly without it, ever. It becomes training wheels that you think you can't ride without. But, of course you can, of course you can.

Great advice Shelby.... I fly my Maule, Timber props etc off safe and in strong wind but the Jets I have not tried. I will go for a calm day with the Viper once the winter weather. Merry Boozer, How would you compare this one to a Flexjet? Speed Flight Etc
@MerryBoozerRC5 жыл бұрын
The avanti is faster and glides better but if you like flying high alpha the flex is better at that. The avanti is more of a pattern plane. The flex jet is much more capable for acrobatics. But the flex jet is almost $200 more money so if you like flying normall scale the avanti is the plane for you. If the price doesn’t scare you away the flex is still my favorite jet

Best flying, and built jet available today, in my opinion. I would not personally suggest it as a first jet though. That would have to be an Eflite Viper with SAFE.
@MerryBoozerRC5 жыл бұрын
Well I hope somebody buying a jet doesn’t need safe in my opinion if you need safe you shouldn’t buy a plane that flys 100mph. I would recommend someone be extremely confident in there flying skills before attempting to fly a jet.
@insurancemann15 жыл бұрын
@@MerryBoozerRC I totally get what you are saying and respect your opinion, but I LOVE having SAFE on my multiple jets. I am an experienced pilot but SAFE has saved me more than once. And just one SAVE saves someone $300+. And it allows me to learn and practice maneuvers I may not try if I didn't have it. Again, just my opinion, it's all good.
