Definitely in the top 5. Idk how someone would quantify most evil but if I had to I’d go Mephisto, Thanos, Sinister, Doom and Kang. But it’s hard though because Thanos, Doom and Kang can be diplomatic and most of it just comes from the desire for more power. I knew that Nathaniel Essex was evil, but this additional information truly shows this character to be irredeemable all the more. He's one of the few antagonists in the Marvel Universe that embody the definition of evil. Excellent work.

Sinister has such a cool backstory. It has a wonderfully intricate arc and weaves elements of Penny Dreadfuls, Gothic novels and H.G. Wells-style concepts. The way the writers integrate him into the origins of other characters is awesome.

Sooooooooo many crazy time travel shenanigans. Mr Sinister may be the character retroactively added throughout Marvel history the most. I think I would have liked to have seen Chris Claremot's original plans for Mr Sinister come to pass. That means Sinister would have actually been a powerful child mutant who projected the form of Mr Sinister as what a child thought was frightening. That's why the pointy teeth and the almost childish original design of the character. Wishing for a video on BATTLESTAR in time for the 4th of July this year. Great job. Great coverage and thorough work on all your videos. They are entertaining and valuable to new readers. Mr. Sinister was a great villain. As his chronological story is presented here it has a different feel compared to his introduction and subsequent fleshing out. As more of his back story was revealed the less menacing he became for future stories. The ever changing editors and writers seem to always want to reinvent a character or change them from how they were introduced. Rarely does that work it seems.

I can definitely understand why the 90s X-book writers wanted to bring Sinister back to life (after his apparent death in "Inferno") and flesh out his backstory. He was a great villain with a great look. I don't think that the reveal of his 19th-century origins hurt the character too much, but the non-stop parade of Sinister clones has definitely done so. (I did love that hilarious issue of "Powers of X", though). And of course, it's always inevitable that a recurring mutant villain will eventually become an uneasy ally of the X-men.

I always thought that making Sinister the erstwhile right hand of Apocalypse diluted the character. His personal obsession with the X-men (especially the Summers family) combined with his complete amorality and cloning mastery is enough to make him a formidable big bad on his own. And he just looked amazing, on top of that.

It’s difficult since this plot line hasn’t completed yet but it’s a shame you couldn’t include anything from Immortal X-Men #8 and the Sins of Sinister event where Essex is split into 4 beings: Mr. Sinister ♦️ Dr. Stasis ♣️ Orbis Stellaris ♠️ and Mother Righteous ❤. His ultimate goal being to ascend to dominion status and escape the dangers of Artificial Intelligence. But as this is yet to be tied up this was an excellent video!

It’s funny, Sinister was supposed to have a different origin. He was supposed to really be an old mutant who passed himself off as a child (Or something .). And GAMBIT was originally supposed to be an agent of his ! Sinister and Scott also had a history together , they used to room together at an orphanage . I think his origin as a Victorian scientist is better, though .

I imagine in a different realm, a variant of Mr.SINISTER, had one clone of himself, who was surprisingly, the complete opposite of him, and this clone rebelled against him. To add I imagine the clone later escaped, from his creator Mr.Sinister, and he then went on a journey to try to find the X-Men. In addition I imagine later he decided to work with the heroic X-Men group. I also imagine the clone, thought up a name for himself, and that name is (Kevin Kind). Plus to add I imagine over time, the clone Kevin Kind, his skin color changed, along with his hair color, and the color of his eyes. I imagine the color of Kevin’s hair turns dark-blue, the color of his eyes turn light-brown, and the color of his skin becomes light-purple.

One part of the Sinister story should be included. Remember when Sinister was 'selling' the genetic make-up of Danny Cage? We learned this auction was a red herring, but if 'we' know anything about Mr. Sinister, his lies are truths. Although initially by accident, Luke Cage is one of the most successful participants of the Power Man [Weapon Plus] process. The process was perfected to a certain extent, and he was subjected to it again (including his jacket), making him even more powerful. Jessica Drew is a mutate (like her husband and father of their child) whose potential paranormal powers have never been fully shown in the comics. Is there some unknown ability she may possess that she has never used? Sinister may know something others fail to see within the Cage family's DNA. I believe his explanation for the scam in the auction was not entirely 'honest'. Maybe it was to lower everyone's guard for his 'real' plans. I bet we will see a return to this storyline in the future...

Do you know who would have been the perfect - not to mention scary - science partner to Essex? Anyone remember Lionel Jeffries - Scamble? Madison's brother, the latter being a member of Alpha Flight. They both had mutant abilities. Madison could transmutate metal and give it some degree of life like the creation matrix of Transformers. Lionel, on the other hand could do that with organic matter. He could intuitively transmutate it on the molecular-genetic level. That was why he became a doctor. He could cure any and every disease known to man. He could cure cancer. He could regenerate limbs if he wanted. And that's not all. He could also splice genes together from any species he wanted. Forget Brundlefly, he could've created a hybrid spider and human! The one thing he could not do however, was bring people back to life. That's why he flipped out. And that's why he and Mr. Sinister together would be...pretty scary. Maybe Marvel can give us a storyline on that...😏

So Mister Sinister is basically responsible for everything that happened to the X-Men and their Mutant kind like the accident with the Summers family which caused Cyclops and Havok to be raised in different families and Cyclops joining the X-Men.

I hate to say it because he is not a personal favorite character of mine but SINISTER is so crucial to XMEN lore he must be included in the new films to not include such a pivotal character is a disservice to the audience/fan base and the mythos itself he must be a reaccuring character as well and not an Easter egg or cameo. Unfortunately this character must have a level of prominence in the “marvel” iterations of xmen films. Some complex character; nonsensically far fetched concepts like ONSLAUGHT. or just silly characters like a la Sugarman
