Gotta hand it to marvel for at least trying; i mean, race relations were very volatile during the early 70’s. The press had placed urban blight at the feet of the working poor- mainly black and brown Americans. For marvel to step in and create black panther, black Goliath, Luke Cage, Blade, Wyatt Wingfoot, Storm, and other heroes of color was super progressive given the times. These days, it is easy for us to ask, why not just call him Goliath? The panther? It’s actually cool that we, as a society, are at least trying to move forward, instead of in reverse.

In Texas high school football, that's what we call "the total package." Black Goliath can get big and straight up wreck the place but he can also cure radiation viruses. Also, these 70s writers were footloose nuts with these plots.

@mikewilson3581
@mikewilson3581 Жыл бұрын
@@quinteson2853 Yes it was! There was a time in the 70's and 80's when Marvel could have a 3, 4, or 5 issue storyline in one book. Self contained and you didn't have to buy a lot of other books you normally wouldn't read to continue the story. Maybe a 2 issue story that went from an issue of the Amazing Spider Man that finished in an issue of Nova but that's it.

I gotta stop you there, video guy, 16:00 the Black Goliath "was" worried about the radiation and Nuklo (at that time) had the mind of a child, he wasn't a "villain" (at the time) at all but just not able to function like regular people. I read those Marvel Two-In-One issues many times and you're giving "less than accurate" information. If Goliath wasn't worried, he wouldn't have fashioned those "metal" mitts to cover his fists while fighting Nuklo, who was a mutant actually. While Goliath cared less, he did care about things, that's why he was looking for a cure. You also left out his participation in saving Project Pegasus along with Thing, Quasar, Thundra, Wundarr, and a few other reluctant people and that happened in the issues you mentioned his/Thing's battle with Nuklo, who was let out as a distraction by the doctor who was to become the Nth Man.
