Absolutely spectacular and as always patience is rewarded watching these. The Bore passes Widnes about 2 hours before high tide in Liverpool. It’s the biggest I’ve seen and for a good hour was captivating. There are plenty of safe places to watch and look out for the few high tides over 10m at Liverpool. Thanks for watching. Paul

Great to see the magic moment....the second the river flow changes direction. I remember learning all about the tides on the Mersey just after I bought my first boat.....found it fascinating. The power of the tide is almost unreal....so much water in such a short time to fill the whole area. Where your video opened Paul....by the Mersey Pub (the snig) launched several different boat there over the years....inc kayaks letting the incoming tide take us warringtons howey weir and then a ride back. Can be a scary place down there under the bridges during a storm...its wild. Over at Wiggs Runcorn by old Quay Bridge....is a good spot to see the bore....also Gatewarth near warrington....the Forest Way road bridge over the river is a good bore spotting area....the river is funneled into the narrows. Great video. Nick from Runcorn.

That’s a lovely comment thank you. I’m hoping with my films to show how incredible it is around there and the majestic nature of the area including marsh harrier over at Wigg island. It’s been a great find from simply attending a stone roses concert many years ago! Paul

One of the Biggest was early 80s when a ferocious all night Gail force storm flooded the DEE estuary & Burton Marshes as far as up Saltney & Chester estimated the tidal bore header was in the region of nearing 35-40ft taking fishing boats from moorings at Thurstuston & they were marooned on the Burton point breakwater which is about 12ft high above mean high water

Ah now that makes sense of the massive groundwork’s I came across at fleet as I was picking up there’d been a flood. It’s just they are so high above the land behind it had to be for a very good reason. Thank you

Actually everyone goes oh it’s a bit small and on the day I thought the same as I’d dragged a friend with a really good camera up there. Anyway 6 minutes later it just went bonkers! Nearly 200k now and my mate wants a cut as his shadow appears in the film Jim!!! Brilliant and no chance!! Paul

Enjoyed the video, but I don't think that was a bore as such, just the flood tide. You would need to be beyond Warrington where the river narrows to see a bore.
