So the next time you want to buy Oreo's, Baby Ruth and so many others at your local convenient or Grocery store, check the Label, Palm Oil is most likely why the baby was orphaned. Mother Orang's DO NOT abandon their young, they are quite seriously committed, unless separated through no fault of her own... Its not that complicated. The Bos Foundation will take on the responsibility as mother and teacher for this little one for the next 6-7 years. So Next time., dont donate to a foundation that pays their CEOs bloated salaries, like most vet foundations, but instead give to these people, the real hero's. As we decimate all of our natural resources, these are the kinds of people you'll have to begin helping, these creatures are 98% of you and me. They hurt too. Sleep Tight

Im sold going to start reading labels.i live on a tourist island that's mostly a wildlife sanctuary for birds, sea turtles, burrowing owls, gators and manatees.traffic stops while ibis feed along roadways.lights near the beach are turned off when sea turtles start laying eggs.animals do need are help these days as man has destroyed a lot of their habitat.

Excellent point! Also, while some products label the ingredients as "Palm Oil" or "Palmolein oil" or "Palmolein", some are very coy and list it as "Vegetable Oil" - now that could be anything from Soybean, Sunflower, Rapeseed but it almost always Palm oil because of how cheap and shelf stable it is. Keep an eye out for that, and just cut down on the processed food you consume. It is bad for these orphans, bad for the rainforests, bad for the planet, bad for your heart as well - palm oil isn't the healthiest. It is even trickier with shampoos and other toiletries and cosmetic products, but the palm oil derivatives are a google search away.

I want a baby orang. Of course I won't really get 1 but if I was really rich I'd have an island with plenty of trees and their favorite fruits planted and I'd have a number of them swinging around. I'd go out every day and feed them bananas and they could visit the play area I'd have built for them.

Funny, you people taking about the deforestation in Borneo and Sumatra to plant palm oil. What about your own country, those farmlands that produced foods to export in your countries did not cause deforestation and the extinction of animals...? God knows how many kinds of animals has extinct in your country when your forfathers cleared the forest. So, look around your own backyards, and tell me whether you still have forest to talk about....?

They are doing such great job at these sanctuaries that the orangutan population is exploding at these sanctuaries, but the orangutans go uncounted into the orangutan population at over hundred sanctuaries. Plus thousands of zoos that exploding orangutan populations and they don't get counted either! I think it's time to give the sanctuary workers credit and cou these orangutans once and for all. Then finally they will get the credit they deserve. Only makes sense, shouldn't all orangutans be counted into the orangutan population?
