It's been obvious for decades that Streep is immensely talented. She just was never a personal favorite of mine, though. But a few years ago, I saw two of her films within a few months of each other. JULIE AND JULIA and THE IRON LADY. She NAILED both roles. I was absolutely blown away. Any actress who can portray two couldn't-be-further-from-each-other roles like that IN THE SAME YEAR is beyond talented. To capture Julia Child so perfectly, without making her a silly caricature that the audience would laugh at, and completely inhabit the persona of Margaret Thatcher, won me over. She is the BEST EVER!
