My favorite part too! Love the way in the movie she would end her conversation w/ the dismissive “That’s All” & a little shooing motion with her hand!🤣I just loved that movie but Meryl Streep was extraordinary in that part!

People who are very powerful don't raise their voices, i found that people who are the most terrifying can just raise an eyebrow.

I agree with her. When I was a child, my father never raised his voice when I was in trouble. He had this deep baritone voice and when he used THAT tone....when his voice went quiet and he got that serious look, you knew instantly that you had gone too far. He recently used that tone on my nephew. It was interesting how my nephew responded exactly as I did at that age. He immediately stopped. .

Daisy Ann, I attended a wedding many years ago and guess who was the star attraction? Not the happy couple, but a middle-aged woman with silver hair, all dressed in silver. I couldn't take my eyes off her- she looked absolutely stunning. What some women regard as a liability she'd turned into a brilliant asset.

The scene where she exceeded and delivered excellence to Miranda when she got the task of getting her daughters the unreleased Harry Potter manuscript for the twins. All the performances in this film are impossibly excellent. However, the choice for Miranda's coiffure is wrong. Anna Wintour, Miranda's real Vogue counterpart, locked onto the classic '60s Vidal Sassoon cut very early in life. Dated, but no one could object to that iconic style. Glenda Bailey, Miranda's real counterpart at Harper's, in contrast, dodged a bullet by never taking her personal hair options too seriously. Similarly, Nina Garcia of Elle sports a nondescript down do that says "I am not the model. I am the Editor-In-Chief." In that world, it's considered gauche to try too hard. Miranda seems to try too hard with such an emphatic do, the wrong do. The color is perfect, but the pert cut is down-market, Dorothy Hamill redux. You might also say her out-of-step hair is a counterintuitive expression of Miranda's genius. She is aware that, at the end of her very long day, she is a trophy wife, kept in a luxuriant Manhattan townhouse. But if I were trying to express that, I would have blown everyone away with a retro, late Dina Merrill, Madison Avenue bouffant.

I finally realized that I actually have big bones and weighing more is not a problem for me.
