I like watching these two talk to each other because you can tell their occupations just by the way they behave. Meryl is expressive, uses her hands, and has voice inflections. She's an actress. Anna looks right at you and analyzes everything you do and say. She's an editor.

The part that struck me most: "I wish my mother were alive to see it." In the end, that's what it comes down to: we want to make our mothers proud...no matter whether what we've been called to do is in the glaring light of publicity or in a humble part of the world serving a neglected community. You're living your best life if Mom would look at it and conclude that she had done a good job raising you, that all her sacrifices were worth the while.

Meryl is an actress and she's a kind of a person that is direct, precise and sharp. Also, she is so used to be talking to different kinds of people with interviews, exposure and etc. but I'm sure that Anna does too but just in a different way. Meryl does not go around the bushes. She talks on a topic on point and she's very clear on the subject on what she wants to say. Unlike Anna, she's not shy. Both Meryl and Anna are strong and powerful women but different. Anna is a journalist, a writer and she's more of a person that is reserved and takes time to structure their words and they are very good observant and deep thinkers. Look at the matter of how she ask questions. You'll know it. It's not because they have nothing to say but there's a lot of things going on in their minds at once and it's a mess. It's hard to look eye to eye contact because they get distracted and get lost on what they are supposed to say. I am actually of the latter. If you see people that you meet and talk with them and they look the other way when they are talking, please don't judge too harshly or quickly. They are trying to construct and reconstruct their thoughts and how to relay it in a matter that is understandable and relatable for everyone. Elon Musk is actually one of them. As a matter of fact, I've seen the debate of Elon Musk and Jack Ma about AI in Mars. Both are brilliant but there's a lot of difference between the two of them. Jack Ma is well spoken but doesn't seem to really get the idea of the vision of the future that Elon has in mind. While Elon Musk is trying to pick on words how to explain and lay out his view and vision of the future but is struggling to do so. We all have different gifts, abilities and intellectual prowess. It's' just how you see people and learn to respect and appreciate differences.

I do love the idea of Meryl raising daughters - she is the best role model. She's right - you want to bring up the next generation of women to feel free to be themselves, it's a fine line between 'preparing' them and 'scaring' them. I think things are moving in the right direction, but it's sad that we're not there yet.

She obviously meant "Being the greatest figure in the fashion world, I have five minutes to talk to you, the greatest actress of our time." Anna was not being a very polite guest. That meeting was way too brief for someone of Meryl Streep's stature.
@James-ek3il5 жыл бұрын
I think she said:"i think that a good time to end, then merryl and i can talk about more important things." I think what she meant was for the video to end, not their conversation
@AB-fg4mh3 жыл бұрын
@@James-ek3il Same. I can see why someone like Anna would be annoyed by the interview questions. They were very superficial. I sensed Anna looking down at her notes was just thinking "WTF kind of questions are these?" All this stuff is just entirely produced. She obviously wanted a real talk with Meryl.
