I bought the 100 badlander head after seeing this, and it's a freakin monster of destruction. Hands down the best amp i have ever owned...for ref i have had the 5150, triple rec, jcm 800 2204, kemper, axeIII, mesa axis....
@ookookook Жыл бұрын
That’s some serious props. You run chorus, delay, verb in the loop at all? Curious how well it handles
@chrisshultz144 Жыл бұрын
I was told there while there IS gain for sure, but not as much as a 5150 you’d definitely need a boost/overdrive with this, is that true?
@TyCorr6 ай бұрын
@@chrisshultz144 Theres plenty of gain. He even runs it pretty hot in this video a few times. Shes heavy. If youre a pedal guy youre probably going to run a pedal with it anyway.

So many shit talking the Badlander, but I knew it'd just be a matter of knowing how to dial it in. And you always get that right. It sounds SWEET. Like a richer, tighter, recto.
@soundstorm95088 ай бұрын
As someone who worked in live sound for close to a decade, it's worth noting that 90% of guitarists have no idea how to dial in an amp. So take what's said online about various amps with a huge grain of salt. Most of them are just parroting what they read elsewhere.
@TyCorr6 ай бұрын
@@soundstorm9508100%. The “crappy” stiletto deuce and trident that just sounded bad according to everybody. I got a deuce stg2 with crocodile tolex and matching 4x12 for 1200 and ten minutes later i sold my bogner and got a plexi to run with the stiletto. Now its ran next to a dsl100hr the marshall is mid and treble and the mesa is bass and mids. Two amps people say are junk. My favorite setup out of the ones ive had. And its cheap.

I also had a Badlander combo for a few months and this is a super accurate sounding demo - excellent job, as always. My problem with the Badlander was that it was ALWAYS tight. Sometimes I wanted a bit looser sound and it just wouldn’t really do that. But if you want it to do a good tight rock or metal sound, it’s got it! And it’s got really good cleans, which I was also very surprised about.
@johnnyromero33362 жыл бұрын
I had a 100 Watt Badlander and I agree it was "Always" tight , I could not get that sag I wanted sometimes no matter how low of gain or how I dialed it in, that was my only complaint about this amp, and lack of a better foot switch with more options, C'mon Mesa a single button channel selector switch.
@aninfinitemindofmusicandreams2 жыл бұрын
In the market for a new amp to play around with and I've been looking at this amp. You articulated exactly how I feel about it. I prefer a bit more roar and grind out of my metal tones. This does sound quite nice though. Great clarity in the tones. It pretty much nails the 2000s New Wave of American Heavy Metal sound. I dunno, might still buy it. It's a nice amp for sure.

You should capture your cab/mic combo into an IR. They're awesome and consistently sound great in all your videos. Would love to test them out with my set up. The IRs in the Boogie are really bad in comparison. Perhaps load it up in the Boogie and do an A/B video? Then again, comparison videos get super complicated thanks to the variation in impedence curves between different load boxes. Would still be interesting imo.
