Great gig, great player and great tones! The Lonestar model is my go to "not insanely dirty" amp in the QC. Great example of tones that sound a little rude isolated that kill in the mix too.

Dude, I literally just bought myself a white PRS Custom 24 with the natural wood grain on the back and headstock. Our guitars are cousins 😂. Anyway, I love your videos! Forgive me if I sound effusive, but your playing, tone, and gear choice are fantastic, and your taste in music is so similar to mine it’s uncanny. Someone who digs Alice In Chains, Hum, Opeth, Failure, Meshuggah, and 90’s rock in general warms the cockles of my heart. Congrats on the Seal gig! Sounds like a lot of hard work and fun

I think these new digital tools are only as good as the ear shaping the sounds. I’ve heard a LOT of QC play throughs and run downs and literally NOT ONE has sounded this good. That’s YOU, not the tech. Really got me thinking and considering things for my own band that has to fly this coming year and backline is less of a realistic option than ever before. Really appreciate you sharing your set up.

Hell yeah man! That's awesome you're playing with Seal. Not the sounds I was expecting based on the rest of the stuff you play on your channel. I'm on that Quad Cortex crew too. It's so good. Sold my FM3 after getting it. I had the nano for maybe a week before texting my sweetwater guy to send me the full size unit. I'm on the cortex cloud too. I got my amps captured and I'm also capturing every amp that comes through my studio for review as well.
@stiffmeister0hYeahКүн бұрын
I know I've seen your videos. I was thinking about going with two VP4's because the QC and FM's looked too complicated. Do you think the QC would be a better option? I don't want to be "that guy" who spends all day in menus and tweaking. I do have the IR-J and a George Lynch wah pedal.
@FastRedPonyCar18 сағат бұрын
@@stiffmeister0hYeah Every digital unit is going to have a learning curve but what I personally put the most value on is how easy is it to work with on stage. The Fractal units are a nightmare, the tonemaster pro is the best by a mile and the helix and QC are somewhere in between. If all you need are effects and maybe the option to use your own IR's or cab sim, the Stomp HX is REALLY hard to beat. The effects are great, the unit supports stereo in/out, the interface is pretty easy and intuitive to work with on stage in a pinch and with midi, the option to expand out switching with an extra 2 button switch and really matured computer software and it's also cheaper than the VP4. The FM3 is another really great option (especially used) if you want more capabilities in terms of great amp sims and more cab sims and stuff like that but like I said, the menu is a bitch on the stage to make quick adjustments.
@ZachWish17 сағат бұрын
Thanks man! I'll check out your stuff on the cloud. Hope all is well with you.

@@ZachWish Yeah man. Between 2 kids playing sports, real life job, gigging a few times a month and a steady flow of review gear from the guys at Zzounds and random friends just sending me stuff to check out, my plate has been full but it's a good busy. Gonna be losing a lot of sleep though once that bloodborne emulation work really gets polished up. The dream is so close! LOL

Hey man, love the vid and the tones. You make the QC sing. Just a note, if I’m not mistaken you’re using the mono Slapback Delay after your TC2290 chorus which would mean you’re losing the stereo on the chorus. I think that’s what the (M) means. Great preset though, will have to give it a try. Really interesting to see/hear how you’ve tweaked the tone for good live use (making it darker/smoother and cutting some of those low mids) great stuff Edit - carried on watching and now I can see the slapback isn’t being used at the same time as the 2290 so ignore me!

Thanks for the great video and sharing of your preset! Love all of your tones! May I ask, is the DC Chok powering up your Neural DSP as well or is it running on its own power?
@ZachWish12 сағат бұрын
Thanks! Yeah, the Cioks DC7 is powering everything on the board. The QC is using 4 of the outputs, and then it's also powering the volume pedal and wah.
@conflict8812 сағат бұрын
@@ZachWish Thanks for the speedy response sir. I’m new to this Cioks DC7, the chain that powers 4 to 1 comes with a brand new purchase of the DC by default? What’s the white wattage pins set to ensure it doesn’t fry anything?
